Domaine Tortochot Vieilles Vignes Gevrey-Chambertin 2018

Have you ever wanted to drink like a king? Or, perhaps, more specifically, an emperor? The power of wine lies in its ability to transport its drinkers to such settings and time periods, and the Domaine Tortochot Vieilles Vignes Gevrey-Chambertin 2018 allows its drinkers to assume the role of Napoleon Bonaparte - given his favorite wine was Chambertin. Grand Vin de Bourgogne Like many of the winemaking estates in Burgundy, the history of Domaine Tortochot spans across multiple generations (four, to be exact). However, in this rapidly changing world and global ecosystem, Domaine Tortochot is looking ahead – in fact, they've been practicing organic farming since 2003 and achieved official certification in 2010. With a 12-hectare estate featuring, on average, 50-year-old vines, the longevity and simultaneous continuous use of the land is of the utmost importance; as a result, Domaine Tortochot has – and continues to - put a strong emphasis on protecting and promoting the estate's natural fauna and flora. Gevrey-Chambert 3d APPELLATION GEVREY-CHAMBERTH CONTROL VIEILLES VIGNES MISE AU DOMAINE Domaine Cortechet PROPRETARE A GEVREY-CHAMBERTIN (COTE-D'OR FRANCE VIVINO This red Burgundy is entirely comprised of pinot noir, and aged in French oak barrels between 12 to 18 months after a four-to five- day cold maceration process. Although the bottle's content is solely pinot noir, it features a blend of grapes from various Tortochot Domaine parcels: 80% Villages, 10% Premier Cru and 10% Grand Cru from within the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. This concoction brings drinkers a floral nose and a fresh, red-fruit tasting palette. While it is ready to be consumed at present, it also has great aging potential - and its lasting finish by no means overpowers paired foods. This pinot noir is a strong companion to red meat and cheeses; perhaps as an aperitif with a LUSH charcuterie board, or even with something as casual as the LUSH Burger.
