How the Five Compare on the Numbers
Fifteen tea boxes are on the fact sheet and three of them are the same Utopia Home box in different pack sizes, with word for word identical bullets. This page carries one of those three and four others. Among the listings left out, YYICO publishes 16 compartments at 11.8 by 3.9 by 9.9 inches and says nothing at all about cleaning, which on this page is the reason it is not here.
The question is what each maker tells you to do when a bag splits or something sticky gets into a compartment. One of these five publishes a full instruction and names the method to avoid. One says its material is easy to clean and water resistant. One describes itself as mildly waterproof and gives no method. Two say nothing whatsoever.
The material row explains most of the cleaning row. Plastic can be hand washed and its maker says so. Bamboo is called water resistant rather than waterproof. Particleboard is the one material here that water genuinely damages, and its listing uses the phrase mildly waterproof and stops. What only one listing publishes is a compartment size, and it is given in centimeters: 8.81 by 7 by 7.78 cm inside each of Oceanstar’s eight.
One Full Instruction and Two Silences
The Only Listing That Names What to Avoid
Utopia Home publishes the clearest care note in the pool: wipe it clean with a damp cloth or hand wash with a light detergent and water, and avoid putting it in the dishwasher. That last clause is the valuable part. A clear plastic box with a lid is exactly the thing someone would put in a dishwasher, and this is the only listing among fifteen that tells you not to.
It is also the only pick here that ships more than one box: three stackable containers of 8 sections each, published at 10.7 by 7.2 by 3.8 inches per box. The trade is that it publishes no weight at all, because the figure would cover the pack, and it is plastic where three of the others are bamboo or wood.
Two Listings Say Nothing at All
Oceanstar publishes four bullets covering 8 equally divided compartments, the inside dimensions of those compartments, a bamboo framed lid with acrylic glass, and a list of other things it will hold. Cleaning is not among them. handrong publishes five bullets about handcrafted tree patterns, 9 compartments, a transparent top, premium natural wood and gift appeal, and says nothing about washing either.
Both are wooden boxes with clear tops, which is the construction where the answer matters most, because water in a joint or under a glued panel is what loosens one. Neither listing is careless in other respects, and Oceanstar publishes something nobody else does. They simply leave the one question this page asks unanswered.
What the Box Is Made Of
Bamboo, Wood and Particleboard
RoyalHouse publishes natural bamboo with a clear acrylic top and states that bamboo products are easy to clean and water resistant, which is a fair claim and not the same as waterproof. At 4.0 lb it is the heaviest box here, with 12 equally divided compartments and a stated capacity of more than 100 tea bags, the only tea bag count among these five.
handrong publishes premium natural wood stated to resist cracking, with 9 separate compartments under a transparent top, at 9.44 by 9.44 by 3.5 inches and 1.5 lb, the lightest published weight here. Oceanstar publishes bamboo with an acrylic glass panel in a bamboo frame, at 7.5 by 12.25 by 3.94 inches and 2.86 lb. Three wooden boxes, three different accounts of the wood, and one cleaning claim between them.
The One to Read Twice
Homode publishes particleboard with a reinforced widened metal frame and describes itself as mildly waterproof. Particleboard swells where water reaches a cut edge, and a tea caddy lives beside a kettle, so that phrase is doing a lot of work. Nothing in the listing says what to do with a spill.
The rest of it is genuinely appealing. It publishes 8 compartments, a top tray with a protective enclosure for cups, sugar or honey, a matte black metal frame over a wood grain finish, and a size of 13.07 by 7.87 by 5.91 inches, which is the largest published box on the page. It also publishes no weight, so how steady the chest is when the drawer is empty is unknown.
Compartments, Capacity and Footprint
Eight, Nine or Twelve
RoyalHouse publishes 12 equally divided compartments, handrong 9, and Oceanstar, Utopia Home and Homode 8 each, with Homode adding a tray on top. More compartments in the same footprint means narrower ones, which suits flat paper envelopes and not boxed pyramid bags, and only one listing here lets you check that.
Oceanstar publishes the inside dimensions of its compartments: 8.81 cm long by 7 cm wide by 7.78 cm high. That is the most useful figure in the whole pool and it is the only one of its kind, given in centimeters on a listing whose box size is published in inches. Every other pick here describes generously sized or equally divided sections and leaves you to measure a tea bag against nothing.
Only One Publishes a Tea Bag Count
RoyalHouse states more than 100 tea bags across its 12 compartments. Nobody else gives a number. Utopia Home says 8 generously sized sections, Homode says 8 generously sized compartments, handrong says large capacity with ample storage, and Oceanstar says 8 equally divided compartments and then, uniquely, measures them.
Those two approaches are worth comparing directly. A stated 100 bags tells you whether a collection fits and nothing about what shape it can be. A compartment measured at 8.81 by 7 by 7.78 cm tells you exactly what shape fits and nothing about the total. Between the two, the measurement is the one that answers the question a pyramid bag raises.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
Being told what not to do. Utopia Home, three stackable clear boxes with lids, 8 sections each at 10.7 by 7.2 by 3.8 inches, in BPA free shatter resistant plastic, wiped with a damp cloth or hand washed and never put in a dishwasher.
Knowing what will fit a compartment. Oceanstar, bamboo with an acrylic glass lid at 7.5 by 12.25 by 3.94 inches and 2.86 lb, and the only listing in the pool that publishes its compartments inside, at 8.81 by 7 by 7.78 cm.
The most compartments and a stated count. RoyalHouse, 12 equally divided compartments under a clear acrylic top in natural bamboo, stated to hold more than 100 tea bags, at 11.0 by 12.5 by 4.5 inches and 4.0 lb.
A box that earns its place on a shelf. handrong, 9 separate compartments under a transparent top in premium natural wood with a carved tree pattern, published at 9.44 by 9.44 by 3.5 inches and 1.5 lb. It publishes no cleaning instruction.
A tray for cups as well as bags. Homode, 8 compartments in a wood grain particleboard chest with a widened metal frame and a top tray with a protective enclosure, at 13.07 by 7.87 by 5.91 inches. It is described only as mildly waterproof.
What We Could Not Verify
Every figure above comes from the maker’s own listing text. These are the things we went looking for and could not source in any of them.
- Only Oceanstar publishes a compartment size, so on four of these five whether a boxed pyramid bag stands upright is unanswerable.
- Oceanstar and handrong publish no cleaning instruction at all, and both are wooden boxes with glued clear panels.
- Homode publishes no cleaning method on a particleboard chest it describes only as mildly waterproof.
- Utopia Home rules out a dishwasher without saying what one would do to the plastic.
- Only RoyalHouse publishes a tea bag count, at more than 100, and it publishes no compartment size to check it against.
- Utopia Home and Homode publish no weight, so how steady either is when nearly empty is unknown.
