How the Five Compare on the Numbers
This table compares the published specifications for all five convection microwaves. Where a maker does not state a figure, the cell reads not published. The Frigidaire and AAOBOSI are the only two that publish a convection element wattage, at 1500W and 1700W respectively. The AAOBOSI also publishes the largest capacity at 1.6 cu ft, while the Sharp publishes the smallest at 0.9 cu ft. The Panasonic and RecPro do not publish capacity in cubic feet.
Dimensions vary enough to matter for fit. The Sharp publishes 19.6 inches of width, the smallest figure here, and the Panasonic and AAOBOSI publish 22 inches, the largest. Depth ranges from 15.77 inches on the Sharp to 22 inches on the AAOBOSI. Weight is published for three models: the AAOBOSI at 78 pounds, the Frigidaire at 42 pounds, and the Panasonic at 39 pounds. The RecPro and Sharp do not publish weight.
The table does not tell you how evenly any of these ovens heat, how quickly they preheat, or how well they air fry. Those are performance characteristics that the manufacturers do not publish and that we did not measure. The table also omits interior dimensions and turntable sizes for most models, which affect what fits inside. Only the Panasonic publishes a turntable diameter, at 14.2 inches.
Convection and Air Fry Capabilities
Published Convection Wattage
Only two of the five makers publish a convection element wattage. The Frigidaire states 1500W, and the AAOBOSI states 1700W. That 200W difference is the only published comparison point for convection power between these two. For the Panasonic, RecPro, and Sharp, the convection wattage is not published, so no direct comparison is possible from the fact sheet. A higher published wattage may suggest faster heating, but without testing we cannot confirm that.
The AAOBOSI also publishes a 1750W broil element and a 1000W microwave, giving it the most detailed power specifications on the sheet. The Frigidaire publishes a 900W microwave and a 1000W oven in addition to its 1500W convection element. The Panasonic publishes a 1000W microwave. The Sharp publishes a 900W microwave. The RecPro does not publish any wattage figures.
Air Fry and Multi Function Modes
All five models list air fry or air frying as a capability. The Frigidaire states its air fryer uses up to 70 percent less fat than traditional frying methods. The Sharp includes a dishwasher safe air fry basket and a baking/roasting pan, the only model on the sheet to publish those accessories. The Panasonic lists air fryer as one of four modes, alongside microwave, broiler, and convection. The AAOBOSI lists air fry among ten cooking functions. The RecPro does not list a separate air fry mode but offers nine express cook options.
Multi stage cooking is published only for the Sharp, which combines up to three functions for defrosting, cooking, and crisping in a single operation. The Panasonic publishes app-linked recipes that automate the built-in modes. The AAOBOSI publishes six preset auto cooking programs and a sensor cook function. The Frigidaire publishes five one touch cook menus. The RecPro publishes nine express cook options. These features differ in how much manual setting each model requires.
Size, Fit, and Installation
Countertop and Built In Options
The RecPro is designed for built-in installation, with a finished trim size of 24 inches wide by 16.75 inches high. Its external dimensions without trim are 20.5 inches wide by 14.25 inches high by 18 inches deep. The Panasonic can be placed on a countertop or made built-in with an optional trim kit, model NN-TK81KCS. The AAOBOSI is a built-in wall oven with published dimensions of 23.82 inches wide by 22.26 inches deep by 19.49 inches high, though the fact sheet also lists 22 inches for width and depth and 18 inches for height. The Frigidaire and Sharp are countertop models with no published built-in option.
For countertop use, the Sharp is the smallest at 19.6 inches wide by 15.77 inches deep by 11.38 inches high. The Frigidaire measures 21.25 inches wide by 19.72 inches deep by 11.9 inches high. The Panasonic measures 22 inches wide by 17.7 inches deep by 13.4 inches high. The AAOBOSI is the largest at 22 inches wide by 22 inches deep by 18 inches high. These published dimensions are the starting point for checking whether a model fits your space.
Capacity and Weight
Published capacity ranges from 0.9 cu ft on the Sharp to 1.6 cu ft on the AAOBOSI. The Frigidaire publishes 1.2 cu ft. The Panasonic and RecPro do not publish capacity in cubic feet, so you cannot compare their interior volume directly with the other three. A larger published capacity generally means more room for cookware, but interior shape also matters and is not published for any model.
Weight is published for three models. The AAOBOSI is the heaviest at 78 pounds, followed by the Frigidaire at 42 pounds and the Panasonic at 39 pounds. The RecPro and Sharp do not publish weight. If you plan to move the oven frequently or install it in a cabinet, the published weight is a factor to consider. The AAOBOSI also requires a 20A plug and 120 VAC, 60 Hz, which is a published electrical requirement the others do not list.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
If you want the most published cooking functions, the Frigidaire lists bake, roast, microwave, and convection modes plus five one touch menus. It publishes a 1500W convection element and a 1.2 cu ft capacity.
If you want app-linked recipes and automated modes, the Panasonic pairs with the Kitchen+ app to automate microwave, broiler, air fryer, and convection. It publishes a 14.2 inch turntable and a 1000W microwave.
If you need a built-in unit for an RV or compact space, the RecPro has a finished trim of 24 inches wide by 16.75 inches high and external dimensions of 20.5 inches wide by 14.25 inches high by 18 inches deep.
If you need the largest published capacity, the AAOBOSI publishes 1.6 cu ft and a 1700W convection element. It is a built-in wall oven with a 1750W broil element and a 1000W microwave.
If you want dishwasher safe accessories and multi stage cooking, the Sharp includes a dishwasher safe air fry basket and baking pan, and combines up to three functions in one operation. It publishes a 0.9 cu ft capacity.
What We Could Not Verify
Several published figures are missing from the fact sheet, and we did not estimate them. Here is what we could not find.
- Convection element wattage for the Panasonic, RecPro, and Sharp.
- Capacity in cubic feet for the Panasonic and RecPro.
- Weight for the RecPro and Sharp.
- Interior dimensions for all five models.
- Turntable diameter for all models except the Panasonic, which publishes 14.2 inches.
- Electrical requirements for all models except the AAOBOSI, which publishes 120 VAC, 60 Hz, and a 20A plug.
