How the Five Compare on the Numbers
A baguette pan is a perforated sheet with dough baked onto it, and the thing standing between an easy wash and a ruined pan is the coating. Nineteen listings sit in this pool. Most of them claim easy cleaning and only some of them will name a dishwasher, and one of the three that does immediately advises against using it.
Three of these five state dishwasher safe. Two state only that the pan is easy to clean. Their coatings are a two layer nonstick, a food grade silicone described as non Teflon, an unnamed food grade nonstick, silicone over fiberglass, and on one pan no coating at all. Published weights run from 0.28 lb to 1.18 lb.
What the table cannot tell you is how many washes a nonstick baguette pan survives. Not one of the five says. What Chicago Metallic does say is that handwashing preserves the coating, which is the closest thing in this pool to an admission that a dishwasher costs the coating something, and the other two dishwasher claims come with no such caveat.
The Coating Is What the Dishwasher Threatens
One Pan Has No Coating At All
AYCCNH is the only pick here made of stainless steel and it makes a point of it, stating that there is no paint coating on the surface and that no harmful substance is released at high temperature. It then states that the smooth surface can be cleaned with a sponge by hand or washed in a dishwasher, with no reservation attached.
That is the cleanest answer on the page and it is not free. Without a coating, release depends entirely on the perforations and the polish, and the listing offers only a claim of easy release. The other four pans all put something between the dough and the metal, and all four of those things are the part a dishwasher wears out.
One Maker Says Dishwasher Safe and Then Says Not To
Chicago Metallic states dishwasher safe for convenience, though handwashing is recommended to preserve the nonstick coating, and adds that lining with parchment adds an extra layer of nonstick assurance. Read as a whole, that bullet is an instruction to hand wash a pan it is permitted to machine wash.
Hesanzol states dishwasher safe as part of a material bullet and never mentions handwashing, on a pan with a food grade silicone coating it describes as non Teflon. Those two are the same claim with opposite framing, and the second gives a buyer no way to know whether the coating is more or less robust than the first.
What You Have to Do Before Each Bake
Oil, Parchment or Butter
Two of the five ask for something beyond the pan. Chicago Metallic states that for best results you apply a light coating of oil or line with parchment paper before baking, for clean release and simple cleanup. Hesanzol states that you brush a thin layer of butter on the pan before first use for better effect.
Those are not the same instruction. Oil or parchment before every bake is a recurring step, and butter before first use is a seasoning pass done once. Both are honest and both undercut the word nonstick a little. AYCCNH, EAMQXERTOI and FETESUR publish no pre bake step at all.
Two Listings That Only Say Easy
EAMQXERTOI states smooth burr free edges for easy cleaning, and repeats in a second bullet that smooth edges make cleanup easier. That is a claim about the rim rather than the baking surface, and its food grade nonstick coating is described without being named. It never mentions a dishwasher.
FETESUR states food grade silicone and fiberglass for durability and easy cleaning, and separately that a non stick surface makes cleaning simple and quick. Silicone is the material on this page least likely to be harmed by a machine, and the listing still declines to say so. At 0.28 lb it is also the lightest pan here by a wide margin.
Where the Published Sizes Fall Apart
Two Field Sets With the Same Figure Twice
AYCCNH publishes 10 x 1 x 1 in, and its own title says 15 x 10 in. A pan that bakes three loaves is not one inch across in two directions, so two of its three fields are placeholders and the title carries the only figures worth having. Hesanzol does the same thing, publishing 15 x 0.98 x 0.98 in against a size field of 15 x 11 in.
In both cases the pattern is identical: one real figure and two identical near one inch values. This page uses the maker’s own statement in each case, 15 by 10 in for AYCCNH and 15 by 11 in for Hesanzol, and reports the field sets as what they are. Neither listing acknowledges the discrepancy.
Three Statements of One Pan
EAMQXERTOI publishes 12.59 x 14.96 x 0.85 in in its fields, states 15.08 x 12.99 x 0.87 Inches in its size field, and states measures 15 x 13 x 0.87 inches in a bullet. All three describe the same pan and no two agree. The third figure is nearly stable at 0.85 in and 0.87 in; the plan figures wander by half an inch.
FETESUR is worse in a different way. Its fields publish 6.97 x 5.28 x 0.55 in and its size field says 17.7 x 3.4 inch, which cannot be the same object in any orientation. A 17.7 in silicone form and a 6.97 in one are different products, and the listing gives no way to tell which arrives.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
No coating to protect. AYCCNH is stainless steel with, in its own words, no paint coating, and states you can clean it with a sponge or in the dishwasher. It publishes 0.94 lb and bakes three loaves, and its 10 x 1 x 1 in field set is a placeholder against a stated 15 x 10 in.
The most honest cleaning bullet. Chicago Metallic publishes 9 x 16 x 1 in and 0.86 lb, states 16 x 9 x 1.5 inches in a bullet, and states dishwasher safe while recommending handwashing to preserve its two layer nonstick. Oil or parchment before baking.
Dishwasher safe with no caveat. Hesanzol publishes 1.18 lb, the heaviest here, with a food grade silicone coating it calls non Teflon, 0.8mm carbon steel, a stated 446 degrees Fahrenheit limit, and butter on the pan before first use.
Four loaves and smooth edges. EAMQXERTOI publishes 12.59 x 14.96 x 0.85 in and 0.57 lb, bakes four baguettes rather than three, and states burr free edges for easy cleaning. It never mentions a dishwasher and publishes three different sets of figures.
Silicone instead of steel. FETESUR publishes 6.97 x 5.28 x 0.55 in and 0.28 lb in food grade silicone with fiberglass, stated microwave and oven safe, with a non stick surface and easy cleaning. Its size field says 17.7 x 3.4 inch, which its fields do not support.
What We Could Not Verify
These are the things I went looking for in the five listings and did not find.
- Not one of the five says how many dishwasher cycles a nonstick baguette pan survives.
- AYCCNH publishes 10 x 1 x 1 in for a pan that bakes three loaves, and its title says 15 x 10 in.
- Hesanzol publishes 15 x 0.98 x 0.98 in against a size field of 15 x 11 in.
- EAMQXERTOI publishes three different sets of figures for the same pan and never reconciles them.
- FETESUR publishes 6.97 x 5.28 x 0.55 in in its fields and 17.7 x 3.4 inch in its size field.
- EAMQXERTOI and FETESUR never mention a dishwasher at all, and FETESUR is the material most likely to survive one.
