How the Five Compare on the Numbers
Every figure below comes from the maker’s own listing. Three of the five kits list 24 numbered tips, the Boyun 138 kit lists 63, and the Kootek 180 kit lists 30 standard and 12 large. Disposable bag counts run from 30 on the Boyun and Syntus kits to 100 on the ANSLYQA and Kootek 180 kits. Two turntables are stated as 11 inches and one as 12 inches.
Weight is published by two makers only. RFAQK states 1.98 pounds for the 90 piece set and Kootek states 6.44 pounds for the 180 piece set, so the RFAQK kit is the lighter of the two published weights. Kootek is also the only maker here to publish a full set of dimensions, 12.17 by 12.17 by 3.78 inches. The other three publish a package figure or nothing at all.
The table cannot tell you how the guidance is delivered. RFAQK names a video course, a pattern booklet, and a digital user guide, but does not say how long the course runs or where it is hosted. Boyun describes an e-book in four levels without a page count. The table also cannot say whether the plastic turntables sit as steadily as the aluminum alloy ones, because none of the five publishes a weight for the turntable alone.
What a First-Time Decorator Finds in Each Box
Charts, booklets, and the one video course
RFAQK is the only maker among the five that states a video course. Its 90 piece listing also names a pattern chart booklet showing the outcome of each tip and a digital user guide with 3 cake recipes and step-by-step guidance for baking, leveling, and icing. For someone who has never held a piping bag, that is the fullest written and filmed support on this page.
Boyun takes a different route. Its e-book user guide is described as four levels of cake decorating, with methods for baking, leveling, and icing, 3 frosting recipes, and a step-by-step guide to using icing, and its numbered tips come with a pattern chart. Syntus ships a booklet showing each tip’s outcome, ANSLYQA ships a pattern chart, and the Kootek 180 kit lists no chart, booklet, or guide of any kind.
Numbered tips and the couplers that go with them
A numbered tip only helps a beginner when a chart tells you what the number makes, which is why tips and guidance belong together. RFAQK, Syntus, and ANSLYQA each list 24 numbered tips. RFAQK names round, open star, closed star, French, drop flower, spiral, Bismarck, petal, chrysanthemum, leaf, and grass shapes. ANSLYQA names closed star, open star, French, rose, round, plain, leaf, and petal.
Boyun lists 63 tips, made up of 48 stainless steel icing tips, 8 Russian tips, and 7 Korean Bobbi skirt tips, stored in a reusable case, and states the steel as 304 grade. Kootek 180 lists 30 standard numbered tips and 12 large tips. On couplers, RFAQK, Syntus, and ANSLYQA each list two, Kootek lists three, and Boyun says couplers are included without giving a count.
Bags, Turntables, and the Tools Around Them
Disposable and reusable bag counts
Practice sessions use bags fast, and the five kits differ widely here. ANSLYQA and Kootek 180 each supply 100 disposable bags; Kootek states its bags as 12 inch. RFAQK supplies 55, and Boyun and Syntus supply 30 each. A beginner working through a chart of 24 tips will want a fresh bag per tip and per color, so the 30 bag kits need a restock sooner.
Reusable bags change that arithmetic. Boyun and Kootek 180 each include two silicone reusable bags, and Kootek states its two as 12 inch. RFAQK includes one reusable silicone bag, and Syntus includes one reusable bag with no material stated, each beside their disposables. ANSLYQA lists disposable bags only, with no reusable bag anywhere in its bullets, so a buyer of that kit who wants a washable bag has to add one.
Turntable material and the leveler question
Two makers state a polypropylene turntable: RFAQK and Syntus both describe an 11 inch dishwasher safe polypropylene stand on ball bearings that turns in both directions. Boyun describes its turntable as dishwasher safe plastic with ball bearings and gives no diameter. ANSLYQA states a 12 inch aluminum alloy turntable with a non-slip surface and rubber feet, and Kootek 180 states an aluminum alloy turntable with rubber feet but no diameter.
A leveler matters to a first layer cake because it trims the dome before icing starts. RFAQK, Syntus, ANSLYQA, and Kootek 180 each list one cake leveler. Boyun’s bullets name a cake cutter, scrapers, flower nails, a flower lifter, measuring spoons, and a 14 piece fondant mold, but no leveler. Every one of the five lists scrapers or combs, and RFAQK, Syntus, ANSLYQA, and Kootek 180 each list three.
Figures, Gaps, and the Kits Left Out
Weights and dimensions the makers publish
Kootek is the only maker among the five that publishes all three dimensions for its 180 piece kit, 12.17 by 12.17 by 3.78 inches, and a weight, 6.44 pounds. RFAQK publishes a 1.98 pound weight for its 90 piece kit and a package figure of 10.94 by 10.82 by 2.87 inches, which describes the box rather than the turntable. Neither figure is a turntable diameter, so I have not read them as one.
ANSLYQA publishes a package figure of 12.2 by 12.2 by 5.11 inches and no weight. Syntus publishes no weight, and its only dimension field reads 11 by 11 by 11 inches, three identical numbers that read as an unpopulated field, so I set it aside rather than quote it as a size. Boyun publishes no weight, no dimensions, and no turntable diameter at all, which leaves its kit ranked on contents alone.
Why five of the ten did not make the page
The fact sheet holds ten kits and five were left out. The Kootek 12 inch turntable set lists combs, spatulas, and a cake server but no piping tips or bags, so it is a turntable set rather than a beginner’s decorating kit. The SakerPlus set is a stainless steel decorating syringe with interchangeable nozzles and no turntable, bags, or chart, a different tool for a different job.
The other RFAQK kit was set aside because its own listing disagrees with itself: the title names one turntable diameter and the first bullet names another, and its published weight and package figure are both too small to belong to a kit built around an aluminum alloy turntable. The Riccle kit and the DynastyEra kit list tips and a turntable but no chart, booklet, or guide, and DynastyEra lists no disposable bags.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
Buyer who has never piped a cake. The RFAQK 90 piece kit is the only pick that states a video course, and it pairs 24 numbered tips with a pattern booklet and a digital guide holding 3 recipes. At 1.98 pounds it is the lighter of the two published weights.
Buyer who wants to grow past the basics. The Boyun 138 kit lists 63 tips including 8 Russian and 7 Korean shapes, a 14 piece fondant mold, flower nails, and an e-book in four levels, so the same box covers a first cupcake and a later fondant project.
Buyer who wants the fewest tools to learn. The Syntus 65 piece kit keeps to the essentials: an 11 inch dishwasher safe polypropylene turntable, 24 numbered tips with a booklet, a leveler, two spatulas, three scrapers, two couplers, 30 disposable bags, and one reusable bag.
Buyer who decorates cupcakes more than cakes. The ANSLYQA 237 piece kit adds 50 paper cupcake liners and 50 cake flags to its 24 numbered tips, pattern chart, and 100 disposable bags, and its 12 inch aluminum alloy turntable has rubber feet and a non-slip surface.
Buyer who wants cookies and fondant in the same box. The Kootek 180 piece kit lists 6 cookie cutters, 9 fondant tools, a decorating pen, 2 flower nails, 4 spatulas, and 100 disposable bags, with published dimensions of 12.17 by 12.17 by 3.78 inches and a 6.44 pound weight. It ships no chart or guide.
What We Could Not Verify
These are the figures and facts a beginner might want that the five listings do not supply.
- A turntable diameter for the Boyun 138 kit and the Kootek 180 kit; neither listing states one, and Kootek’s 12.17 inch width and depth describe the kit, not the stand.
- A weight for the Boyun, Syntus, and ANSLYQA kits; only RFAQK at 1.98 pounds and Kootek at 6.44 pounds publish one.
- Any dimension for the Boyun kit, and a usable dimension for the Syntus kit, whose only field reads 11 by 11 by 11 inches and was set aside as a placeholder.
- How the RFAQK video course is delivered or how long it runs, and how many pages the Boyun e-book holds; both makers name the guide and nothing more.
- A coupler count for the Boyun kit; the bullet says couplers are included and stops there.
- Whether the ANSLYQA turntable or any part of its kit is dishwasher safe; the listing makes no cleaning statement, while Kootek 180 advises against the dishwasher and RFAQK, Syntus, and Boyun clear only the turntable.
