How the Five Compare on the Numbers
A glass bottle that goes to work every day is judged on two things the listings actually publish: what wraps the glass and what you hold. Three of these five give you a carry point. LOOFORE states a built in hand strap, ameiin an adjustable strap for hands free walking and Ello a built in carry loop. sunkey and Mrsdry state neither.
The sleeves split by material. LOOFORE and sunkey both use neoprene, and both add a note that neoprene has a smell which they call normal. Ello and Mrsdry use silicone, with Ello naming chips and cracks as the risk and Mrsdry adding reduced condensation. ameiin describes a sleeve with a strap and never says what it is made of.
What the table cannot tell you is how much protection any sleeve gives. Every one of these five describes its sleeve as protective, and not one publishes a drop height, a thickness or a test. The sleeve column records what each maker says it protects against, which is the most any of these listings supports.
Sleeves, and What Each One Is For
Neoprene Against Silicone
LOOFORE and sunkey both use neoprene. LOOFORE calls its sleeve non slip and detachable and adds that it provides decoration and an insulation effect. sunkey says the sleeve protects from bumps and scratches and provides a non slip gripping surface. Both listings add the same caveat, that neoprene has a slight smell which is normal and safe.
Ello and Mrsdry use silicone and describe different benefits. Ello says the silicone sleeve protects against chips and cracks, which is the most specific damage claim here. Mrsdry says its sleeve gives impact protection, easy grip, no slips and reduced condensation, and it is the only listing in this group to mention condensation at all.
The One That Will Not Say
ameiin describes a stylish simple design sleeve with an adjustable strap and never names the material. That matters more on this page than it would elsewhere, because the sleeve is the ranked specification and because the same listing restricts its dishwasher permission to the glass part, which leaves the sleeve unexplained twice over.
What ameiin does publish instead is unusual and checkable: that the bottle carries no logo or pattern at all. It also publishes the only genuinely hands free carry in this group, an adjustable strap rather than a hand strap or a finger loop, which on a commute with a bag on one shoulder is a real difference.
Carry Points, Lids and One Handed Use
A Strap, a Loop or Nothing
Three carry solutions appear here and they are not equivalent. ameiin states an adjustable strap and says plainly that it allows a hands free power walk. LOOFORE states a built in hand strap on the sleeve, which is something to hook a hand through. Ello states a built in carry loop, which takes a finger or clips to a bag.
sunkey and Mrsdry publish none of the three. Mrsdry argues the opposite case, stating that the bottles are slim and designed to fit backpacks and car cupholders, so the bottle is carried by the bag rather than by hand. For a 32 oz sunkey bottle at a published 11.02 inches tall, the absence is more noticeable.
Opening It While Walking
Only Ello publishes a one handed opening, a one touch flip lid that it says lets you pop it and drink directly from the glass. The other four all use a screw cap of some kind: stainless steel on LOOFORE, ameiin and Mrsdry, with a cap lining on sunkey. Three of those four state that the silicone or rubber sealing part is removable.
That split lines up with the dishwasher statements. Ello states all parts are top rack dishwasher safe and that the sleeve does not need removing. LOOFORE says the bottle is dishwasher safe and the cover should be hand washed. ameiin limits it to the glass. sunkey publishes no dishwasher statement at all.
Glass, Temperature and Figures to Check
Four Name the Glass, Two Publish a Range
LOOFORE, ameiin, sunkey and Mrsdry all name borosilicate, with sunkey calling it high grade and thick and Mrsdry calling it food safe and high borosilicate with chemical and impact resistance. Ello describes the body only as glass. On a bottle whose selling point is the taste of clean glass that is a surprising omission.
Two go further and publish a temperature range. LOOFORE states -20 to 150 degrees and sunkey states -20 to 120 degrees. Neither names a scale in the text, so the figures are quoted here exactly as published. The other three publish no range, which leaves hot tea and a freezer as open questions on those bottles.
Two Figures Worth Reading Twice
LOOFORE publishes 0.51 lb. sunkey publishes 1.06 lb for a bottle of the same stated capacity in the same material with a sleeve of the same type. Both figures appear in their listings and the lighter one is hard to credit, so it is reported in the table with a note and no comparison is built on it.
The same listing also gives two capacities: 32 oz in the product name and 33.8 Ounces in the size field. Mrsdry has a different version of the problem, publishing no bottle dimensions at all. Its 2.8 by 2.8 by 8.3 in figure describes the package for four bottles, and it is quoted here as the package and nothing else.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
A sleeve you want to wash separately. LOOFORE, a detachable neoprene sleeve with a built in hand strap, borosilicate rated -20 to 150 degrees, and a cleaning brush included. Its weight and capacity figures both need checking.
Walking with both hands full. ameiin, a sleeve with an adjustable strap stated to allow a hands free walk, 32 oz borosilicate at 2.96 by 2.96 by 11 in. The sleeve material is never named and only the glass is dishwasher safe.
Drinking without unscrewing anything. Ello, a one touch flip lid with a silicone sleeve and a built in carry loop, 20 oz at 2.75 by 2.75 by 10.75 in, all parts top rack dishwasher safe. The glass grade is not named.
The most specified glass. sunkey, high grade thick borosilicate rated -20 to 120 degrees under a neoprene sleeve, 32 oz at 3.15 by 3.15 by 11.02 in. No carry point and no dishwasher statement.
A filled bottle for every day of the week. Mrsdry, four 18 oz high borosilicate bottles in silicone sleeves with O-ring stainless lids, stated slim for a backpack. No per bottle dimensions and no strap.
What We Could Not Verify
These are the figures this comparison went looking for and could not source from the listings themselves.
- What the ameiin sleeve is made of. The listing never says.
- Any drop, thickness or impact figure behind the five protection claims.
- Per bottle dimensions for Mrsdry, which publishes only a package figure.
- A temperature range for ameiin, Ello and Mrsdry.
- A glass grade for Ello.
- Whether the LOOFORE bottle holds 32 oz or the 33.8 Ounces in its size field.
