How the Five Compare on the Numbers
These five sets publish capacity in three different units and one publishes none. YUANYE writes four ounce figures into one set. Tessco writes 50 oz. GoodCook writes 4 cups a bowl in one listing and a total of five cups across five bowls in another. Bentgo writes a piece count, a portion promise and no volume anywhere.
For a station that fills containers on a Sunday and empties them through the week, the per container figure is the only one that plans anything. A set figure tells you what the carton holds. A cup figure that might be per bowl or might be per set tells you nothing until you decide which it is, and one of these listings leaves that decision to you.
What the table cannot settle is how much food any of these sets holds in total, because only one listing publishes both a per container figure and a container count you can rely on. Multiply a per bowl figure by a piece count and you are doing arithmetic the maker declined to do, on a piece count that in one case disagrees with the maker’s own bullet.
The Same Brand Publishes Capacity Two Ways
Four Cups for Each Bowl
The ten bowl GoodCook set is unambiguous. Its first bullet states that the bowls feature a 4 cup capacity and then explains what that buys: a way for two people to plan lunch for the work week, or one person to prep lunch and dinner. The figure is attached to a bowl, the bowl count is ten, and the arithmetic is left to the reader but at least it is possible.
It backs the figure up inside the product. Embossed cup measurements and capacity lines run up the wall of each bowl, so a portion is built to a line rather than to a listing. That is the most useful thing on this page: a capacity claim a buyer can check without the listing, on a bowl stated to be microwave and dishwasher safe.
Five Cups Across Five Bowls
The five bowl GoodCook set is the same brand publishing the same kind of figure differently. Its bullet lists a five pack of twenty five pieces, five bowls, five removable three compartment trays, five nesting 2 oz dressing cups and five lids, and then gives a total 5 cup capacity for organized salads and meals. Read as written, that is one cup a bowl.
One cup is not a salad, so the figure is almost certainly per bowl and written badly. This page will not decide that for the maker. What the listing does publish clearly is the rest of the set: write on and erase lids, embossed portion markings, nesting dressing cups with a stated 2 oz capacity, and a microwave, freezer and top rack dishwasher rating.
The Figures That Are Missing and the Ones That Are Wrong
Ten Bowls and No Volume
Bentgo publishes a piece count, a material claim and a reheating claim, and no capacity. Its bullets state a twenty piece set of ten bowls and ten custom fit lids, PFAS and BPA free, safe to heat straight from the freezer or refrigerator, with the lids excluded from the microwave. Its size attribute is empty. There is no volume in the title either.
It does publish something instead, and it is not nothing: volume is embossed on the tray, so the portions are marked even though the total is not stated. For a station that portions by eye against a line, that may be enough. For anyone deciding whether one bowl holds a meal or a side, the listing has no answer.
Weights That Cannot Cover the Pieces
YUANYE publishes 0.5 lb for a nine piece stainless steel set with lids and silicone seals. GoodCook publishes 0.2 lb for ten bowls and ten lids. Neither figure can be the set and neither is presented as a single piece, so this page reports both and ranks on neither. Two more picks publish no weight at all.
That leaves one weight on the page worth reading. Bentgo publishes 1.32 lb for twenty pieces, which is at least the right order for ten plastic bowls and ten lids. It is still a set figure, so it says nothing about carrying one bowl to work, and no listing here publishes a per container weight.
What a Station Needs Besides a Number
The Only Set That Measures a Container
Tessco publishes what the others leave out. Its compartment bullet states that the 50 oz container is about 17.4 x 17.4 x 9.7 cm, or 6.9 x 6.9 x 3.9 in, and describes a double layer design with a three compartment tray and a removable dressing container. That is a figure you can hold against a refrigerator shelf before six of them arrive.
The rest of the set is specified to the same level. Six containers in three colors, two of each, a reusable fork with every one, a rubberized sealing ring with locking clips on the top lid, PP construction, and a stated microwave, freezer and dishwasher rating. What it never publishes is a weight, for the set or for one container.
Four Sizes in One Box, and a Warning
YUANYE is the only pick that publishes more than one container size, and it publishes four: two at 50 oz, two at 34 oz, two at 27 oz and three at 6 oz. For a station feeding people who eat differently, that is a real answer rather than a bigger number. The larger six have removable silicone seals and are stated to be leak proof.
Its useful sentence is the one that takes something back. The maker states that the lids for the three 6 oz condiment containers are silicone and not leak proof, which is a caveat the other four never offer about any part. YUANYE is also the one stainless set here, stated freezer, oven and dishwasher safe, which means no microwave.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
A household that eats different amounts. YUANYE, nine stainless steel pieces in four stated sizes, two at 50 oz, two at 34 oz, two at 27 oz and three at 6 oz, with sealed lids on the six larger bowls and a stated warning about the three small ones.
A refrigerator shelf you have measured. Tessco for you, six 50 oz containers in three colors published at 6.9 x 6.9 x 3.9 in each, with a three compartment tray, a removable dressing container and a fork in every one.
Portioning to a line, not a listing. GoodCook’s ten bowl set, 4 cup stated for each bowl, with embossed cup measurements and capacity lines inside, a domed snap shut lid and an external dressing cup, microwave and dishwasher safe.
Labeling what you prepped and when. GoodCook’s five bowl set, twenty five pieces with three compartment trays and nesting 2 oz dressing cups, write on and erase lids, and a published 5 cup figure you should read as a per bowl figure.
Prepping straight into the freezer. Bentgo, ten bowls and ten custom fit lids at 1.32 lb, PFAS and BPA free, stated safe to heat from frozen with the lids off, with the volume embossed on the tray instead of published.
What We Could Not Verify
Every figure above comes from the maker’s own listing text. These are the things we went looking for and could not source in any of them.
- Four of the five publish no size for a single container, only a carton figure or nothing.
- GoodCook never says whether its 5 cup figure belongs to one bowl or to five.
- Bentgo publishes no capacity anywhere: not in the title, not in an attribute, not in a bullet.
- Two published weights cannot cover the pieces the same listing describes.
- No listing publishes how much a compartment tray holds separately from the bowl under it.
- No listing publishes a weight for one container, only for a set or a carton.
