Best Smart Kitchen Faucets for Voice and App Control

The deciding specification is how many ways you can turn the water on, because only two of these five answer to a voice or an app and the rest are ordinary faucets.

Our verdict

Moen is the only genuinely connected faucet here: voice, app, wave sensor and handle, with saved presets for exact temperatures and volumes and an LED temperature indicator. DELTA answers Alexa and Google and backs it with a Diamond Seal valve rated against a 500,000 cycle standard. Kohler gives touch control and a temperature memory with no network, and is the only pick publishing a flow rate at 1.5 gpm. KIBI is plain brass.

“Hands free is a feature. Flow rate is a specification.”

What separates these five

Two of five are connected Moen and DELTA answer Alexa and Google. Kohler has touch control with no network. The other two have none at all.
The smart ones hide the flow rate Kohler publishes 1.5 gpm at 60 psi. Moen and DELTA publish no flow figure anywhere in their listings.
A boost that adds 3 percent Kohler's third sprayhead mode is a boost the listing itself describes as a 3 percent flow rate increase.
Three name the valve DELTA names Diamond Seal at 500,000 cycles, Kohler names ceramic discs, KIBI names Sedal. Moen names none.
Three listings were not faucets A touchless soap dispenser, a 40 by 32 inch bathroom mirror cabinet and a replacement spray head all came back in this search.

How we chose

Priorities, not a computed score. The inputs are published specifications, so we rank by what matters most and say how much.

  1. 30% How many ways the water can be turned onThis is what the category name promises. Two of these five accept a voice, one accepts a touch, and two accept only a hand, and no amount of finish description changes that.
  2. 25% Whether a flow rate is publishedIt is the one number every faucet has and most codes require, and it predicts how it feels to fill a pot. The two connected faucets here publish none, which counts heavily against them.
  3. 20% Valve, cartridge and body materialA faucet fails at the valve and corrodes at the body. Three listings name a cartridge and two name a material, and a finish name is not a material.
  4. 15% Installation facts you need before orderingHole count, center spacing, deck plate, supply lines and whether a power outlet is required. One listing states all of it and one states almost none.
  5. 10% What the smart features require to workWi-Fi, an account and a speaker are real dependencies with a shelf life. Only one listing here states them, and stating them is a point in its favor rather than against it.

How the Five Compare on the Numbers

Three listings in this pool are not faucets. Greatmay is a rechargeable touchless soap dispenser. TETOTE is a lighted bathroom medicine cabinet mirror measuring 40 by 32 inches and weighing 56.87 pounds. Danco is a replacement pull down spray head with adapters for other brands, not a faucet at all. All three arrived in a search for smart kitchen faucets and none of them belongs on the page.

Of the five faucets left, exactly two answer to a voice or an app: Moen and DELTA. Kohler has touch control on the sprayhead and a temperature memory, which is electronics without a network. The tankless electric tap has a temperature display and a heating element. KIBI is a plain brass bar faucet. That is the honest shape of this category, and the page is written that way.

The gap that should stop you is in the flow rate row. The two faucets that will answer your voice publish no flow rate at all, while the manual Kohler publishes 1.5 gpm at 60 psi and its metric equivalents. A faucet’s flow rate is a regulated figure in most of the country and the single best predictor of how it feels to fill a pot, and the two most expensive looking listings here leave it out.

Only Two of These Are Actually Smart

What Moen and DELTA Each Mean by Smart

Moen publishes the longer list: four ways to control it, by voice, app, hands free wave sensor or the handle. The app personalizes settings, tracks usage and works remotely. Presets dispense exact temperatures and volumes, and an LED on the faucet shows the temperature. It also states its requirements plainly, which few smart listings do: a smartphone, Wi-Fi and a smart speaker.

DELTA takes the narrower route. VoiceIQ is activated by Alexa or Google Assistant, and the faucet is touch activated at the spout or handle, but the listing never mentions an app, presets, a temperature readout or usage tracking. What it spends its bullets on instead is mechanical: a Diamond Seal valve rated against an ASME standard of 500,000 cycles, magnetic docking and a splatter claim.

Where the Other Three Sit

Kohler is the interesting middle. Its sprayhead has touch control to switch between stream, sweep spray and boost, and it has a temperature memory that returns to the last setting used. Neither needs Wi-Fi, an account or a speaker, which for many kitchens is the better answer. Its boost is worth reading closely: the listing says it gives a 3 percent flow rate increase.

The tankless electric tap is smart in a different sense: it heats water at the tap, states a range of 86 to 140 degrees F and an output of 26.4 gallons per hour, and shows the current temperature on an LED. KIBI has no electronics whatsoever. It is solid brass with a Sedal ceramic cartridge, a Swiss aerator and a 360 degree swivel spout.

What the Manual Faucets Publish That the Smart Ones Do Not

Valves, Cartridges, and Materials

Three of these five name the part that decides whether the faucet drips in five years. DELTA names Diamond Seal and ties it to ASME A112.18.1, a standard of 500,000 cycles, and claims twice that figure. Kohler names ceramic disc valves and says they exceed industry standards. KIBI names a Sedal ceramic cartridge. Moen names no valve technology anywhere in its six bullets.

Materials split the same way. KIBI states solid brass and lead free certification. The tankless tap states 304 food grade stainless steel with ABS. Moen, DELTA and Kohler name no body material at all, describing finishes instead: chrome, Lumicoat polished nickel, vibrant stainless. A finish is a coating, and none of these three listings says what the coating is on.

Installation Details That Are Published or Missing

DELTA is the most useful here. It states single hole or three hole at 8 inch centers, names the deck plate part number you must buy separately for the three hole option, and states that its PEX supply lines are integrated to remove a leak point. Kohler states single or three hole and includes flexible supply lines and an escutcheon plate, so no separate purchase is needed.

Moen publishes no hole configuration and no supply line information, which on a faucet requiring a power source and a network is a notable silence. The tankless tap ships a 3.61 ft plug cable and universal hose fittings and needs an outlet under the sink. KIBI ships a 24 inch preassembled waterline and states single hole mounting.

Weight, Size, and One Copy Paste Error

Reading the Dimension Fields

These fields are unlabeled and on faucets they are usually the carton. Kohler publishes 12 by 28.75 by 3 inches, and no faucet is 28.75 inches along any axis you would mount, so that is a box on its side. Moen publishes 5.5 by 8.97 by 16.73 inches, which reads like a real faucet: a tall spout with a short footprint.

DELTA publishes 2.5 by 9.38 by 9.38 inches and repeats the same figures in its size field, which is the only agreement between a field and a stated size anywhere in this pool. Two identical axes with a 2.5 inch third is a flat carton rather than a faucet, so it is quoted here as published and not read as a spout height.

A Bullet That Names a Different Product

Kohler’s third bullet opens by asking why you should choose Crue, and then describes the Simplice you are actually looking at: a high arch spout for pot clearance and ProMotion technology with a light braided hose and a swiveling ball joint. Crue is a different Kohler line. The bullet has been reused and not edited.

That matters less than a wrong number, and it is worth naming because it shows how much of a faucet listing is template. Moen is the heaviest of the five at 10.07 pounds and KIBI publishes no weight at all, which for a solid brass faucet is the one figure that would support the material claim it leads with.

Which One Fits Your Kitchen

A kitchen already running on voice. Moen is the only pick with four control methods: voice, app, wave sensor and handle, with saved presets for exact temperatures and volumes and an LED temperature indicator. It states its requirements honestly, a smartphone, Wi-Fi and a smart speaker, and weighs 10.07 pounds.

Voice control without an app account. DELTA answers Alexa and Google, is touch activated, and spends the rest of its listing on hardware: Diamond Seal against a 500,000 cycle standard, magnetic docking, and a spray it says produces 90 percent less splatter. It states single hole or three hole at 8 inch centers.

Everything smart that does not need Wi-Fi. Kohler has touch control across stream, sweep spray and boost plus a temperature memory, publishes 1.5 gpm at 60 psi, includes supply lines and an escutcheon plate, and uses ceramic disc valves. It is the only faucet here that publishes a flow rate.

Instant hot water at a second sink. The tankless electric tap heats at the tap across 86 to 140 degrees F, states 26.4 gallons per hour, shows temperature on an LED and is built from 304 stainless steel and ABS at 1.25 pounds. It needs a 110V outlet under the sink.

A bar sink or a prep sink. KIBI is solid brass and lead free certified, with a Sedal ceramic cartridge, a Swiss aerator and a 360 degree swivel spout on a single hole mount, shipping with a 24 inch preassembled waterline. It has no electronics and makes no smart claim at all.

What We Could Not Verify

These are the figures a faucet is judged by, and the smart listings publish fewer of them than the plain ones.

  • Neither Moen nor DELTA publishes a flow rate, which is the most basic published specification of any faucet.
  • No listing publishes a spout height or a spout reach, the two figures that decide whether a stockpot fits under it.
  • Moen names no valve or cartridge technology and no body material anywhere in its six bullets.
  • KIBI publishes no weight at all, which is the figure that would support its solid brass claim.
  • The tankless electric tap publishes no wattage, on a device whose whole function is heating water electrically.
  • Moen publishes no hole configuration, so whether it drops into an existing three hole sink is unstated.

Frequently asked questions

How many of these faucets are actually smart?+

Two. Moen states voice, app, hands free wave sensor and manual control, with saved presets and an LED temperature indicator. DELTA states Alexa and Google voice activation plus touch operation. Kohler has touch control on the sprayhead and a temperature memory, but no network, no app and no voice. The tankless electric tap has a temperature display, and KIBI has no electronics of any kind.

Why does the manual faucet publish a flow rate and the smart ones do not?+

There is no good reason, and it is the clearest weakness in both smart listings. Kohler publishes 1.5 gpm at 60 psi with metric equivalents. Moen sells precise water delivery and volume presets and never states a flow rate. DELTA publishes a valve cycle rating and a splatter percentage and never states a flow rate either. It is a regulated figure and its absence is a choice.

What do the smart faucets need in order to work?+

Moen states it directly: a smartphone, Wi-Fi and a smart speaker for the voice functions. DELTA states that VoiceIQ is activated by Alexa or Google Assistant, which implies the same dependencies without listing them. Both will still work as ordinary faucets from the handle if the network is down, but the presets, the usage tracking and the voice commands all rest on a service.

Is an electric tankless tap a smart faucet?+

Not in the connected sense. It has no app and no voice control. What it does have is a temperature range of 86 to 140 degrees F, a stated output of 26.4 gallons per hour and an LED readout of the current temperature, which is more temperature information than any other listing here publishes. It also needs a 110V outlet at the sink, which most kitchens do not have.

What is Kohler's boost mode actually worth?+

By the listing's own figure, 3 percent. The sprayhead offers stream, sweep spray and boost, and the bullet describes boost as giving a 3 percent flow rate increase on a faucet rated at 1.5 gpm. The sweep spray is the more substantial feature: the listing describes it as a wide forceful blade of water, which is a different shape rather than a slightly larger volume.

Why were three of the eight listings excluded?+

Because they are not kitchen faucets. Greatmay is a rechargeable touchless soap dispenser with a 300 ml reservoir. TETOTE is a lighted bathroom medicine cabinet mirror, 40 by 32 inches and 56.87 pounds, which is not a plumbing fixture at all. Danco is a replacement pull down spray head sold with adapters for other brands, so it fits onto a faucet rather than being one.
