How the Five Compare on the Numbers
All five picks publish a width, a depth, a height and a weight, which is the whole point of this page. The NESSUS WDT tool states 1.23 by 4.12 inches, 1.22 inches tall and 0.12 pounds. The WISSXOER tool states 1.57 by 4.72 inches, 1.57 inches tall and 0.33 pounds. The three levelers state 2.5 by 2.5 inches and 1.45 inches tall for Apexstone at 0.99 pounds, 2.4 by 2.4 inches and 1.39 inches tall for MATOW at 0.88 pounds, and 2.94 by 2.3 inches and 3.07 inches tall for the 51mm MHW-3BOMBER at 0.91 pounds.
The spread is wide enough to matter on a counter. The two needle tools are narrow and long, and the three levelers are close to square in footprint. Weight runs from 0.12 pounds to 0.99 pounds, a difference of 0.87 pounds. None of the five leaves a figure blank, which is why they were chosen over the rest of the sheet.
The table does not tell you whether a tool fits your basket. Base diameter is published for the three levelers but not for the two needle tools, and no maker states the needle spread. It also cannot tell you how the tools feel in the hand, because nobody at Lush has used them. The figures describe size and stated function, nothing more.
Needle Tools and Levelers Do Different Jobs
What the needle tools state
The NESSUS and WISSXOER picks are needle stirrers. Both publish 0.35mm stainless needles, ten installed and ten spare. NESSUS adds a built-in cleaning brush in the base, so the needles are wiped as they are inserted. WISSXOER states that the needles can be removed to run four to eight, and NESSUS states five to nine. Those counts come from the maker, not from a count of the product photos.
The two differ most in size and weight. NESSUS publishes 1.23 by 4.12 inches and 0.12 pounds, while WISSXOER publishes 1.57 by 4.72 inches and 0.33 pounds. That is 0.34 inches more width, 0.6 inches more depth and 0.21 pounds more weight for the WISSXOER tool. Neither maker publishes the diameter of the needle cluster, so the figures describe the body and stand, not the working end.
What the levelers state
The Apexstone, MATOW and 51mm MHW-3BOMBER picks are flat levelers. Each maker publishes a base diameter: 58mm, 53mm and 51mm. Each also states a screw or rim adjustment for depth, though none publishes the range in figures. Apexstone and MATOW describe a screw mechanism with no shims or tools needed. The 51mm MHW-3BOMBER states that the middle rim is loosened and turned to set height.
Their footprints are close. Apexstone publishes 2.5 by 2.5 inches, MATOW 2.4 by 2.4 inches, and the 51mm MHW-3BOMBER 2.94 by 2.3 inches. Height separates them more: 1.45, 1.39 and 3.07 inches. Weight runs 0.99, 0.88 and 0.91 pounds, a spread of 0.11 pounds across the three. The 51mm MHW-3BOMBER is the heaviest of the levelers by 0.08 pounds over Apexstone.
How the Published Figures Line Up With the Words
Where the text and numbers agree
Each of the five makers names the basket or machine the tool is built for, and the base diameter in the numbers matches the claim. Apexstone states a 58mm base for 58mm portafilters. MATOW states a 53mm base for Breville 54mm baskets. The 51mm MHW-3BOMBER states a 51mm base for De’Longhi 51mm portafilters. The two needle tools name no base diameter, and their text makes no diameter claim, so there is nothing to contradict.
Weight claims are absent from all five feature texts, which means the published weights stand alone and cannot conflict with the copy. The same is true of the dimensions. No maker writes a size into the feature text that differs from the listed figure, so the numbers and the words are consistent on every pick.
Where a figure is missing
Two gaps recur. No maker publishes the needle spread on the WDT tools, and no maker publishes the adjustment range of the levelers in figures. The NESSUS listing does state a size in its text, 4.12 by 1.22 inches, which matches two of its listed figures. The WISSXOER listing states no size in text at all, so its four figures come only from the dimension fields.
None of this is unusual for the category, but it limits what the numbers can settle. A reader can confirm the footprint on a counter and the weight in hand. A reader cannot confirm from the sheet how far a leveler descends into a basket, or how wide the needles splay. Those questions need the maker, and the listings do not answer them.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
Counter space is tight. The NESSUS WDT tool publishes the smallest footprint of the five at 1.23 by 4.12 inches and the lightest weight at 0.12 pounds, and its base holds a cleaning brush.
You want spare needles on hand. The WISSXOER tool ships ten installed plus ten spare 0.35mm needles and publishes 1.57 by 4.72 inches at 0.33 pounds, with an aluminum stand for the counter.
You run a 58mm basket. The Apexstone leveler states a 58mm base, a screw height adjustment and 2.5 by 2.5 inches at 0.99 pounds, the heaviest of the five.
You own a Breville 54mm machine. The MATOW leveler states a 53mm base for Breville baskets, 2.4 by 2.4 inches and 1.39 inches tall, at 0.88 pounds.
You use a 51mm De’Longhi. The 51mm MHW-3BOMBER leveler states a 51mm base, a walnut lid and 2.94 by 2.3 inches at 3.07 inches tall, weighing 0.91 pounds.
What We Could Not Verify
Several figures a buyer would want are simply not on the sheet, and I have not filled them in.
- The diameter of the needle spread on either WDT tool.
- The range of height or depth adjustment on any of the three levelers.
- Whether the published height includes the stand on the two needle tools.
- The basket depth each leveler is designed to work with.
- The weight of the stand measured separately from the tool.
- Any tolerance or margin on the stated dimensions.
