How the Five Compare on the Numbers
Published height fields run from 1.65 inches for Songtaste to 6.1 inches for CORTNK, with Yoobro at 3.4 inches, SYJAN HOME at 3.5 inches and ELLDOO at 2.36 inches. Four of the five also put a height into a sentence: Yoobro says 3.4 inches, SYJAN HOME says 3.5 inches high, ELLDOO says 5.9 inches, and CORTNK says 6 inches high.
Footprints are the other half of a shelf. Songtaste publishes 4.06 by 5.59 inches, Yoobro 2.8 by 6.4 inches, SYJAN HOME 6.0 by 6.0 inches, CORTNK 6.2 by 6.2 inches and ELLDOO 7.87 by 7.87 inches. Published weights are 0.2 lb, 0.35 lb, 0.75 lb, 0.97 lb and 1.19 lb in the same order of bulk.
What the table cannot give you is the figure that actually decides a shelf with a cabinet above it: the room needed to get a hand in. Three of these five open from the top, and none of the three publishes how far the lid swings, how high it has to be lifted, or whether it comes off the body altogether. The published height is where a holder ends, not where your knuckles do.
The Height, and the Room Above It
Five Published Heights
Songtaste publishes 1.65 inches in its height field and nothing in words, which makes it the one figure here that would clear almost any shelf and the one with the least support behind it. Yoobro publishes 3.4 inches in both its field and its own size line, and SYJAN HOME publishes 3.5 inches the same way, stating 3.5 inches high with a 6 inch diameter.
The two tall ones are different cases. CORTNK publishes a 6.1 inch field against 6 inches high in its own bullet, which is the same object described twice. ELLDOO publishes a 2.36 inch field against 5.9 inches in its own dimension line, and those two cannot both describe the same glass container, so only one of them can be used.
Nobody Publishes the Reach
SYJAN HOME, ELLDOO and CORTNK all load from the top. SYJAN HOME has a lid with a wooden handle on it, ELLDOO has a hinged lid supported by a chain on the inside with a crystal handle for opening, and CORTNK has a lid over a round basket. On a shelf under a cabinet, each of those needs clearance above its published height, and not one of the three says how much.
The two open designs avoid the question. Songtaste is a standing rack shaped like a coffee cup, and its own bullet says you can put and take the filters more easily because of it. Yoobro is a stand and dispenser that the maker says frees up space for your coffee machine or pour over dripper, which is the only listing here that mentions the machine at all.
Where a Field and a Sentence Disagree
The Glass One, Twice Over
ELLDOO publishes its dimensions as 8.15 by 1.8 by 5.9 inches in a bullet labeled Product Info, and its dimension fields read 7.87 by 7.87 by 2.36 inches. Those are not the same object: the sentence describes something 1.8 inches deep and 5.9 inches tall, and the fields describe something square and 2.36 inches tall. A diamond shaped glass holder could be either, and the listing never reconciles them.
This page uses the sentence, because the maker wrote it as a sentence and labeled it as the product’s dimensions. The 5.9 inch figure is therefore the one to measure a shelf against, which puts ELLDOO above SYJAN HOME at 3.5 inches rather than below it. It publishes 1.19 lb, which is the most weight stated here.
The Two That Match
Yoobro and SYJAN HOME are the two listings on this page where nothing has to be reconciled. Yoobro’s size line reads 6.4 by 2.8 by 3.4 inches and its fields read the same three numbers. SYJAN HOME states 3.5 inches high and 6 inches in diameter, and its fields read 6.0 by 6.0 by 3.5 inches, which is the same round container described two ways.
That agreement is worth something on a shelf page. Songtaste publishes no dimension in words at all, so its 1.65 inch field stands alone with nothing to check it against, and CORTNK’s 6 inches and 6.1 inches differ by a tenth, which is rounding rather than a conflict. Two listings out of five is the whole of the firm ground here.
What Each One Will Actually Hold
Filter Shapes, Named and Unnamed
Yoobro names the most: Melitta cone filters in sizes 1, 2, 4 and 6, Chemex square papers, AeroPress circular filters and Hario V60, and it is the only listing of the five that publishes a count, at up to 150 paper filters. ELLDOO names cone shapes only, giving V60, number 2 for 4 to 6 cups and number 4 for 8 to 12 cups.
The other three are vaguer. SYJAN HOME says it fits 8 to 12 cup coffee filters. CORTNK says it holds various sizes of round basket shaped pleated filters, which is a shape rather than a size. Songtaste names no filter type at all, which on an open rack matters more than it would inside a lidded tub, because the rack has to fit the paper rather than contain it.
Material, and What a Shelf Does to It
Two of the five are the same material. Songtaste and CORTNK both state food safe powder coated galvanized steel and both say the smooth surface wipes with a damp cloth, which is the only cleaning method published on this page. The other three are each different: solid bamboo for Yoobro, natural acacia wood for SYJAN HOME, and thick glass with golden metal for ELLDOO.
A shelf beside a coffee machine is a damp place, and only one of the five addresses it. Yoobro says its bamboo is smoothly finished on all edges and resists moisture. SYJAN HOME says the acacia grain will take on a warm lustre over time and says nothing about steam, and neither steel listing mentions moisture at all despite being the two that name a coating.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
A shelf with almost no gap above it. Songtaste, whose height field reads 1.65 inches against 3.4 inches from Yoobro, on a 4.06 by 5.59 inch footprint at 0.2 lb. It publishes no dimension in words, so that field is unsupported.
Several filter shapes in one place. Yoobro, 6.4 by 2.8 by 3.4 inches confirmed in the maker’s own words, holding up to 150 papers across Melitta, Chemex, AeroPress and V60 shapes. It is the only pick that mentions the coffee machine.
Keeping dust off the papers. SYJAN HOME, acacia wood at 3.5 inches high and 6 inches in diameter, with a lid and a wooden handle. It fits 8 to 12 cup filters and weighs 0.75 lb. Leave room above it for the lid.
A holder meant to be looked at. ELLDOO, thick glass and gold metal at 8.15 by 1.8 by 5.9 inches in the maker’s own line, with a hinged lid on a chain. It publishes 1.19 lb against 0.97 lb from CORTNK, and its fields contradict its sentence.
Round basket filters rather than cones. CORTNK, 6.2 inches in diameter and 6 inches high in its own bullet, in powder coated galvanized steel at 0.97 lb. The lid keeps pet hair out and the published height needs clearance above it.
What We Could Not Verify
Everything above comes from the five listings themselves. These are the things they do not say.
- None of the three lidded holders says how much clearance the lid needs above the published height.
- ELLDOO never reconciles the 8.15 by 1.8 by 5.9 inches in its own line with its 7.87 by 7.87 by 2.36 inch fields.
- Songtaste publishes no dimension in words, so its 1.65 inch field cannot be checked.
- Only Yoobro publishes how many filters fit; the other four give no count.
- Songtaste names no filter size or shape anywhere in its listing.
- Only Yoobro says anything about moisture, which is the condition a shelf beside a machine actually creates.
