How the Five Compare on the Numbers
These five are not the same kind of product. Rev-A-Shelf and JOWBOOW are 28 inch kidney units that replace the carousel bolted inside a corner base cabinet. Leinuosen is a pair of pine kidney shelves with a bearing and no rod. LAMU is a 9.25 inch two tier tower. LANDNEOO is four flat 10 inch trays published at 10 by 1.4 inches. Only the first two publish anything about the cabinet they fit.
Weights follow the build. JOWBOOW is the heaviest of the five at 14.35 pounds for chrome steel shelves, Rev-A-Shelf 9.79 pounds in injection molded polymer, Leinuosen 7.02 pounds for two pine shelves, and LAMU the lightest of the five at 0.99 pounds. LANDNEOO publishes no weight. One figure appears on one listing only: a shelf load rating of 64 pounds.
The table cannot tell you the one thing that decides a corner cabinet job, which is whether your cabinet door is hinged to the frame or mounted to the carousel itself. Two of these five state they are for hinged door cabinets and not door mounted ones. Nor does any listing publish the shaft diameter, so whether a replacement post fits an existing floor plate is unknown from the data for all three kidney products.
Two Different Purchases Under One Name
Units That Replace a Carousel
Rev-A-Shelf and JOWBOOW both make a 28 inch kidney shaped double shelf assembly on a vertical post, which is the thing most people mean by a corner cabinet turntable. Both adjust from 26 to 31 inches of interior cabinet height, Rev-A-Shelf through an adjustable post and JOWBOOW through a telescoping shaft, and both state they suit cabinets whose door is hinged to the frame rather than fixed to the rotating unit.
The Leinuosen is the third kidney product and the one to read carefully. It supplies two pine shelves with a laminated hardwood rim, a bottom panel published at 5/8 inch thick and an iron swivel bearing, and the listing says plainly that the metal rod is not included. So it is a refurbishment kit for a cabinet that still has its post, not a complete unit.
Trays That Sit on a Shelf
LAMU and LANDNEOO solve a smaller problem. The LAMU is 9.25 inches across and 7.7 inches high by its own description, in two tiers joined by metal rods, on ball bearings, with a raised 1 inch edge to stop jars walking off. Its listing says two units stack into a three tier tower, which is an unusual claim and one worth checking against your shelf height before relying on it.
The LANDNEOO is four single tier trays at 10 by 1.4 inches, with a diamond patterned silicone top and anti slip feet, and its listing gives the most human size reference on this page: each tray holds eight cans. At 1.4 inches tall they fit under a low shelf, which is exactly where a kidney unit cannot go. The listing also names a 9.1 inch tray as an available size alongside the 10 inch one, and asks for hand washing and complete drying rather than a dishwasher.
The Measurements That Decide Whether It Fits
Post Height, Door Opening and Clearance
Three figures decide a corner cabinet installation and no single listing here publishes all three. Both kidney units cover 26 to 31 inches of interior height. Only JOWBOOW states a minimum door opening, 11.5 inches, which is the measurement that stops a 28 inch shelf going in through a narrow gap. Only Rev-A-Shelf recommends a clearance, 2 inches between the wall and the unit.
Read those together before buying either. A cabinet can have the interior height for a 28 inch kidney and still refuse it at the door, and a unit that fits the opening can still bind against the cabinet wall in use. Rev-A-Shelf also tells you to measure across the inside of the cabinet rather than the door, which is the step most people skip.
A Dimension Field That Says 28 Three Times
Rev-A-Shelf’s structured dimension fields read 28 inches in all three directions, which cannot describe a kidney shelf assembly. Its own feature text gives 28 inches wide by 22.5 inches deep by 26 inches high, and those are the figures used on this page and in the table. The 22.5 inch depth is the number that matters, because a kidney shelf is cut away at the back to clear the post and the cabinet corner.
The other two kidney products are vaguer in a different way. JOWBOOW publishes a diameter and a shaft range and no shelf depth. Leinuosen’s title lists 24, 28 and 32 inch options while the variant in this data is described as 18 inch, so the size on the label and the sizes in the title are not the same thing. Check the variant you are ordering.
Polymer, Chrome Wire and Pine
The Only Published Load Rating
Rev-A-Shelf states 64 pounds per shelf, and no other product on this page publishes a load figure of any kind. For a corner cabinet that is the specification that matters most, because these units hold stand mixers, stock pots and cast iron, and a sagging polymer shelf is the classic failure. A published number is also a commitment, which is worth more than an adjective from a maker with no figure at all.
JOWBOOW makes the strongest claim without a number, saying its chrome plated steel wire shelves are built for cast iron and stand mixers and that the open wire design promotes airflow in a humid cabinet. Its 14.35 pounds is consistent with a steel build. Chrome wire also drops crumbs through to the cabinet floor, which polymer does not, and neither listing mentions that trade.
Wood, and the Rod That Is Not in the Box
The Leinuosen pair is pine with a clear coat and a laminated hardwood rim, supplied fully assembled with a steel bearing that mounts to a shelf. Wood is the traditional material for these carousels and it is stiffer per inch of thickness than thin polymer, but the listing publishes no load rating and no diameter for the bearing, so there is nothing to compare against the 64 pound figure.
The missing rod is the decisive fact. Two shelves and a bearing with no post make sense only if the cabinet already has a usable shaft and floor mount, which is common when the old shelves have cracked. If your post is gone or bent, this is not the product, and the listing is honest enough to say so in its second line rather than burying it.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
The homeowner replacing a cracked carousel completely. Rev-A-Shelf publishes the fullest data here: 28 inches wide, 22.5 inches deep, 26 inches high, an adjustable post for 26 to 31 inch interiors, 2 inches of recommended clearance and 64 pounds per shelf, in injection molded polymer at 9.79 pounds.
The cook storing cast iron in the corner. JOWBOOW is chrome plated steel wire, the heaviest of the five at 14.35 pounds, with a telescoping shaft for 26 to 31 inches and the only published minimum door opening, 11.5 inches. It states no load rating, which is the figure you would most want from a metal unit.
The homeowner whose post is still good. Leinuosen supplies two pine kidney shelves with a laminated rim and an iron swivel bearing for 7.02 pounds, fully assembled and clear coated. The metal rod is not included, so confirm your existing shaft and floor mount before ordering.
The cook with a tall narrow cabinet. LAMU is 9.25 inches across and 7.7 inches high, two tiers on ball bearings with metal connecting rods and a 1 inch lip, assembling without tools at 0.99 pounds. It is a spice and jar solution, not a corner carousel.
The cook with low shelves and several of them. LANDNEOO gives four trays at 10 by 1.4 inches with a silicone top and anti slip feet, each holding eight cans. Four low trays organize a whole cabinet at a height no kidney unit can reach, and the set publishes no weight.
What We Could Not Verify
The gaps here are the ones that cause returns:
- Shaft diameter for all three kidney products, so compatibility with an existing floor plate cannot be checked.
- Load rating for four of the five. Only Rev-A-Shelf publishes one, at 64 pounds per shelf.
- Shelf depth for the JOWBOOW, which publishes a 28 inch diameter and no cutaway dimension.
- Which variant the Leinuosen listing ships, given a title naming 24, 28 and 32 inches and a description of 18 inches.
- Bearing type and diameter on the Leinuosen and LANDNEOO, and any rotation hardware at all on the LANDNEOO.
- Whether any of the five can be fitted to a cabinet whose door is mounted to the carousel, which two listings rule out and three do not address.
