How the Five Compare on the Numbers

Eight bins are on the fact sheet and three are left off. Heyuzb and BINO are clear tubs that overlap the two plastic picks here without adding a new shape.

What decides a batch cooking freezer is whether the bin is an open wire frame or a solid tub, and how big it really is. Three of these five are metal baskets sized in the listing for a 5 or 7 cubic foot freezer. Two are clear plastic, published at 13 by 7.4 by 7 inches and 11.3 by 7.5 by 6 inches, and both makers say to wash them by hand.

Read the first two rows together, because they do not agree. On the three metal baskets the dimension fields were filed as package sizes, which is the right default for a four pack, and on two of those three the maker also writes a size in a sentence. Those sentences are the figures this page uses. What the table cannot tell you is the capacity of any of them, because not one of the eight listings publishes a volume in quarts, liters or cubic inches, on a product whose whole job is holding a measured amount of food.

Wire Baskets and Solid Tubs Do Not Freeze the Same

Open Frames and Moving Air

ANJUBAN, MSERCUOR and SUNALLY are all open metal. ANJUBAN states 360 degree air circulation and a sturdy mesh base that stops small items dropping through. MSERCUOR states that the open frames let air circulate so food freezes faster and stays fresher. SUNALLY describes wire construction built to take freezing temperatures without cracking, and adds crossbars underneath so the basket does not dent the freezer floor.

For a weekend of batch cooking that matters at the moment the food goes in warm. A tray of portions dropped into a solid tub is insulated on five sides by its own container, while the same portions in a wire basket are exposed to the air the freezer is moving. None of the three publishes a freezing time, a temperature or any measurement to support the claim, so the mechanism is plausible and the benefit is unquantified.

Clear Walls You Can Read Through

Vtopmart and YIHONG solve the other half of the problem. Frozen portions look identical after a fortnight and a clear wall lets you read a label without lifting anything out. Vtopmart publishes 13 by 7.4 by 7 inches in BPA free polyethylene with grips built into the edge. YIHONG publishes 11.3 by 7.5 by 6 inches with easy grip side handles, and ships six of them like Vtopmart does.

Both makers put a cleaning instruction in their listings and both say the same thing. Vtopmart states the bins are not dishwasher safe and asks for hand washing with mild soap and warm water. YIHONG asks for warm water and soap without naming a machine at all. Neither of the three metal baskets says anything about cleaning, which on something that holds raw meat is a gap in all five.

The Published Size Is Often the Box

Three Sets of Fields Describe a Package

Every one of the three metal picks arrived with its dimension fields set aside as a package size, because each is sold as a four pack. On ANJUBAN the fields read 6.0 by 14.61 by 5.83 inches while the maker’s own bullet says the basket measures 14.6 by 6 by 6.7 inches. Two of those numbers match and the third does not, so the carton is not quite the basket and the sentence is the figure to trust.

SUNALLY is the harder case. Its fields read 7.0 by 14.2 by 5.3 inches and its five bullets never state a size at all, so the only measurement attached to this product is a package figure. It names the freezer it is for, 5 to 7 cubic feet, and leaves the basket itself unmeasured. That is enough to shop by if your freezer matches and nothing at all if it does not.

Where the Carton and the Sentence Agree

MSERCUOR is the interesting one. Its fields read 8.0 by 15.1 by 6.5 inches and its own bullet reads 15.1 long by 8 wide by 6.5 high, the same three numbers in the same units. When the maker’s sentence repeats the fields exactly, the fields were the basket all along and the package label on them is wrong. This page treats 15.1 by 8 by 6.5 inches as the basket, because the listing says so twice.

That listing also publishes something none of the others do: a stated tolerance. MSERCUOR says manual measurement may have an error of 0.1 to 0.2 inches, which is an honest thing to print and a reminder that every other figure on this page is published without one. It is also the reason the fact sheet’s own size extractor picked up 0.2 inches for this product instead of the real dimensions.

Stacking, Handles and Reaching the Bottom

Handles That Fold In

All five state that the bins stack, and the metal three explain how. MSERCUOR says the handles turn inward so the baskets sit on top of each other, and lift out again when you want to pull one. ANJUBAN says the baskets can be stacked or retrieved using foldable handles. SUNALLY says its handles allow top access even when the bins are stacked, which is the part that decides whether a bottom bin is reachable.

The two plastic picks have fixed grips instead. Vtopmart builds them into the edge of the bin and YIHONG puts easy grip handles on the sides, and both describe pulling the bin out rather than lifting it off a stack. In a chest freezer that is the wrong motion, which is why the metal baskets fold their handles and the tubs do not.

What the Bottom Is Made Of

ANJUBAN publishes a mesh base with a non slip element and says it stops small items falling through, which on a basket of frozen portions and loose bags is the difference between a bin and a frame. SUNALLY publishes crossbars underneath, and gives a reason nobody else raises: the bars spread the load so the basket does not dent the freezer’s interior over time.

MSERCUOR describes an antirust metal and a patented design without describing the bottom at all. Neither plastic pick describes its base beyond the material of the whole tub. For a use case that involves stacking full baskets on top of each other in a cold cabinet, only two of these five say anything about what carries the weight.

Which One Fits Your Kitchen

A 7 cubic foot chest freezer. ANJUBAN, stated at 14.6 by 6 by 6.7 inches in the maker’s own words, four to a pack at a published 5.34 lb, with a mesh base, foldable handles and a claim of 360 degree air circulation.

The largest basket published here. MSERCUOR, at 15.1 by 8 by 6.5 inches, four for 7.54 lb, in antirust metal with handles that turn inward to stack. It is the only listing that publishes a measurement tolerance.

Protecting the freezer floor. SUNALLY, four wire baskets for a published 4.22 lb with crossbars underneath and top access when stacked. It names a 5 to 7 cubic foot freezer and never publishes a basket size.

Deep portions on a fridge shelf. Vtopmart, six clear bins at 13 by 7.4 by 7 inches for a published 8.36 lb, in BPA free polyethylene with edge grips. The maker states plainly that these are not dishwasher safe.

Reading a label without lifting. YIHONG, six clear bins at 11.3 by 7.5 by 6 inches for a published 5.76 lb, with easy grip side handles. Its own sentence and its dimension field differ by a tenth of an inch on the long side.

What We Could Not Verify

Every figure above comes from the maker’s own listing text. These are the things we went looking for and could not source in any of them.

• Not one of the eight listings publishes a capacity in quarts, liters or any other volume, on a product bought to hold a measured amount of food.
• SUNALLY publishes no basket size anywhere in its bullets, so its only measurement is a package figure of 7.0 by 14.2 by 5.3 inches.
• None of the three metal baskets says anything about cleaning, which on a container for raw meat is a real omission.
• No listing publishes a load rating, so how many stacked full baskets any of these will take is unknown.
• ANJUBAN claims 360 degree air circulation and MSERCUOR claims faster freezing, and neither publishes a time, a temperature or any measurement behind it.
• Every published weight covers a pack of four or six, so no single bin on this page has a weight of its own.
