How the Five Compare on the Numbers
A simple cleanup routine means one cycle and nothing left in the sink. Every one of these five says dishwasher somewhere, and that is where the similarity ends: one covers the whole purchase, two carve the lids out with a stated reason, one adds a manual step of its own, and one puts the claim in its title and in no bullet at all.
OXO is the clean case. One bowl, no lid, 8 cups and also 2 quarts, and a final bullet reading dishwasher safe, BPA free with no rack and no exception. Deedro and Hybemmy are the opposite: both put five or six steel bowls in the machine and ask for the lids by hand, and both give the same reason, which is that dishwasher heat deforms the lid.
What none of the five says is whether the non-slip base goes in the machine. Four of them name silicone or rubber at the bottom of the bowl and not one says it is dishwasher safe, or that it comes off, or how to dry underneath it. On a bowl sold on its grip, that is the part a cleanup routine actually has to deal with.
How Much One Cycle Covers
One Rule for the Whole Purchase
OXO publishes six bullets and the last one is the whole cleanup answer: dishwasher safe, BPA free. There is no rack, no exception and no second component, because the purchase is a single 2 quart bowl with a non-skid base and a non-slip handle. Its fields read 7 by 5.5 by 7.75 inches and it publishes 0.98 pounds, the only weight anywhere on this page.
Idymere comes close and then adds a step. Five bowls at 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3.4 and 5.3 quarts, no lids, and a bullet that calls them easy to clean by hand and fully dishwasher safe with no fragile plastic parts that warp or break with repeated washes. Its first bullet then asks you to towel dry the interior after cleaning to avoid residual water damage.
Two Purchases Where the Lid Stays Out
Deedro states it plainly. Top rack dishwasher safe stainless steel and easily hand-washable lids, and then a recommendation to clean the lid by hand because the heat from the dishwasher may cause it to deform. The purchase is five bowls at 1.5, 2, 3, 4 and 5 quarts and five lids, so half the pieces go in and half do not.
Hybemmy says the same thing more firmly and leaves a third component unaddressed. The bowls are stated dishwasher safe, the lids are strongly advised to be hand washed because dishwasher heat can cause warping, and the three grater attachments get no instruction at all. The set is called nine pack and the bullets name six bowls from 1 to 5 quarts plus three graters, with the lid count left out.
Where the Claim Lives on the Listing
A Title Claim With No Bullet Behind It
Glad is the odd one here. Its title reads Non Slip Base, Dishwasher Safe Kitchen Cooking and Baking Supplies, and none of its five bullets mentions a dishwasher at all. The bullets cover four sizes at 1.2, 1.9, 2.8 and 3 quarts, pour spouts on every bowl, handle lips on three bowls and a full handle on the 3 quart, nesting, and a rubber layer at the base.
That matters for a cleanup routine because a title is not an instruction. There is no rack named, no exception for the handle or the spout, and no word about the rubber layer. The claim is almost certainly meant for the bowls, but a reader who wants to know whether the rubber ring survives a hot cycle has nothing on the listing to read.
Which Rack, and Who Says
Only one of the five names a rack. Deedro says top rack dishwasher safe stainless steel. The other four say dishwasher safe without qualifying it: OXO in a bullet of its own, Idymere in a bullet about cleanup, Hybemmy in its last bullet, and Glad in its title. For a routine that means four of these purchases could sit on either rack as far as the listing is concerned.
Two of the five explain themselves, and the explanations are worth having. Deedro says the heat from the dishwasher may cause the lid to deform. Hybemmy says dishwasher heat can cause warping. Idymere goes the other way and uses the absence of plastic as the argument, saying there are no fragile plastic parts that warp or break with repeated washes. None of the three attaches a temperature to any of it.
The Part Nobody Covers
Four Silicone Bases and No Instruction
The non-slip base is the reason to buy any of these bowls and the reason cleanup is not simple. Idymere names a macaron silicone bottom. Deedro names a non-slip silicone base. Hybemmy names non-slip silicone bases. Glad names a rubber layer at the base and calls it a bottom ring. Not one of the four says whether that layer is dishwasher safe.
Nor does any of them say the base comes off. Four listings describe a silicone or rubber layer at the base and none offers a way to lift it, rinse under it or replace it when it perishes. OXO sidesteps the question by naming no material at all: it publishes a non-skid base and a non-slip handle and never says what either is made of.
What the Fields Will Not Tell You Either
Only two of the five publish a dimension field set, and only one publishes a weight. OXO publishes 7 by 5.5 by 7.75 inches and 0.98 pounds for its single bowl. Deedro publishes 9.4 by 9.4 by 5.5 inches for a nested set of five. Idymere, Hybemmy and Glad publish only a carton figure, because a nesting set’s fields describe the box it ships in.
Those carton figures are real and are cited here as cartons: Idymere 11 by 11 by 5.12 inches, Hybemmy 10.63 by 10.63 by 10.83 inches, Glad 8.75 by 11.13 by 6.37 inches. None of them is a bowl, and the repeated first figure on two of the three is the usual sign of a box rather than an object. For a cleanup routine none of it matters, because the figures that would matter are the ones nobody publishes.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
The reader who wants one rule and no exceptions. OXO. One 2 quart bowl, also stated as 8 cups, with a non-skid base, a non-slip handle and a closing bullet that says dishwasher safe and nothing more. Published at 7 by 5.5 by 7.75 inches and 0.98 pounds.
The reader who wants five bowls and no lids to wash. Idymere. Five bowls at 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3.4 and 5.3 quarts, fully dishwasher safe with no plastic parts, and a published instruction to towel dry the interior afterwards. It is the only pick here that also states oven safe.
The reader who will hand wash the lids anyway. Deedro. Five bowls at 1.5, 2, 3, 4 and 5 quarts with five lids, top rack for the steel and hand washing recommended for the lids because dishwasher heat may deform them.
The reader who wants graters in the same box. Hybemmy. Six bowls from 1 to 5 quarts, airtight lids and three grater attachments. The bowls are dishwasher safe, the lids are strongly advised by hand, and the graters get no instruction at all.
The reader who pours straight from the bowl. Glad. Four plastic bowls at 1.2, 1.9, 2.8 and 3 quarts with pour spouts on every one and a rubber layer at the base. Its dishwasher claim is in the title and in none of its bullets.
What We Could Not Verify
Six things this page went looking for and could not source.
- Whether the non-slip base on any of these five is dishwasher safe. Four name silicone or rubber at the bottom and none of the four says.
- Whether the base comes off on any of them, so there is no published way to rinse under it.
- A temperature for any of the heat warnings. Deedro and Hybemmy both blame dishwasher heat for a deformed lid and neither gives a figure.
- How many lids are in the Hybemmy nine pack. The bullets name six bowls and three grater attachments and state that lids are included without counting them.
- A material for the OXO bowl, its non-skid base or its non-slip handle. The listing names none of the three.
- A weight for Idymere, Deedro, Hybemmy or Glad, for one bowl or for the set.
