How the Five Compare on the Numbers
A pastry wheel is a small thing that takes up a surprising amount of drawer, because the handle is longer than the blade and the whole tool has to lie flat. Eleven listings sit on this fact sheet and only two of the five below publish a size in words. Three publish neither a dimension nor a hanging hole, which are the two ways a tool this shape gets stored.
They also differ in how many tools you are actually buying. Two are double headed, carrying a fluted wheel at one end and a flat wheel at the other on a single handle. Two are single wheels. One is a box of three separate cutters, which is three things in the drawer rather than one.
The figure nobody publishes is the width of the cutting wheel itself, which on a ravioli cutter decides how wide a sealed border it leaves. Elsewhere in this pool two listings do give it, at 1.6 inches, and neither of those is here. Nor does anyone publish a blade thickness, so how much pressure a wheel needs to seal two sheets of dough is unstated on all five.
Only Two Listings Publish a Size
Same Brand, Same Footprint, Different Thickness
The two Norpro tools are the same shape and not the same object. Both state 7 by 3 inches. The all steel wheel states a thickness of 0.5 inches and publishes 0.2 lb. The Grip-EZ states 0.75 inches, because it carries a soft Santoprene handle contoured for either hand rather than a rounded steel one, and it publishes no weight at all.
A quarter of an inch sounds like nothing until the drawer is a shallow one. Both tools are described as fitting a utensil drawer, and only the thinner all steel version publishes a hang hole, which means it is also the one you can keep out of the drawer entirely. On the published figures that is the practical difference between them.
A Field Trio Larger Than Its Own Sentence
The Grip-EZ dimension fields read 3.5 by 8.5 by 1.0 inches while its own final bullet states 7 by 3 by 0.75 inches, given also in centimeters. Every field is larger than the stated figure, by an inch and a half on the long side. This page used the bullet, which is the more specific of the two and the one written in the maker’s own words.
The all steel Norpro agrees with itself: fields of 3.0 by 7.0 by 0.5 inches against a stated 7 by 3 by 0.5. That is the only pick on this page where the two sources match, and it makes it the one tool here you can hold against a drawer before it arrives. The other three publish no dimension of any kind.
Hanging It Instead of Laying It Flat
Two Tools Publish a Hole
A hanging hole solves the drawer problem by removing the tool from it. The all steel Norpro states a convenient hang hole for easy storage as part of its rounded handle. WQHLONGBO states that its handles have a hanging hole for easy hanging and that the set therefore does not occupy kitchen space, which on three separate cutters is the more useful of the two claims.
The Grip-EZ, MyHoome and LLMSIX all say nothing about hanging. LLMSIX instead argues the drawer case directly, stating that the tool is small and can be easily stored in a kitchen drawer or placed in a baking kit, and it publishes 0.11 lb, which is the lightest figure on this page.
A Wooden Handle Is Longer Than a Steel One
LLMSIX is the only pick here with a long wooden handle, which is the shape that makes a pastry wheel awkward to store, and it publishes no length for it. Two listings elsewhere in this pool do publish that figure, one stating a 6.3 inch oak handle and another giving an overall 6.7 inches, so the figure exists in the category and this listing omits it.
The steel tools are shorter by design. Norpro publishes 7 inches overall for a double headed tool, which means the handle is a few inches at most, and MyHoome describes an ergonomic handle without measuring it. For a drawer with dividers in it, the difference between a 7 inch steel tool and an unmeasured wooden one is the whole question.
One Tool or Three
Two Wheels on One Handle
Both Norpro tools are double headed, with a fluted wheel for a scalloped sealed edge at one end and a smooth flat wheel for straight cuts at the other. That is two jobs on one handle and one item in the drawer, which is the tidiest arrangement on this page. The all steel version adds polished professional gauge steel and a hang hole on top of it.
MyHoome and LLMSIX are single wheels. MyHoome states 430 stainless steel and that it can go in the dishwasher, and names cutting, sealing and crimping as one motion across ravioli, pierogi, dumplings and empanadas. LLMSIX states a high carbon stainless blade and a rinse under water, and names ravioli, pizza, pasta and cookies.
Three Separate Cutters in One Box
WQHLONGBO is three tools rather than one, described as three different shapes that between them cut a lace serrated pattern and long uniform noodles. It states dishwasher cleaning or plain water, and a hanging hole on the handle. What it publishes nowhere is a weight, a dimension, or which three shapes are actually in the box.
For an organized drawer that is the trade in plain terms: three cutters cover more patterns and take three slots. The listing’s own answer is to hang them instead, and since it publishes neither a size nor a weight, hanging them is also the only storage claim a buyer can act on before the box arrives.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
A drawer you have measured. Norpro steel, a published 0.2 lb at a stated 7 by 3 by 0.5 inches in professional gauge polished stainless steel, double headed with a fluted and a flat wheel, on a rounded handle with a hang hole for storage.
A grip that will not slip in wet hands. Norpro Grip-EZ, a stated 7 by 3 by 0.75 inches with two stainless blades, a fluted wheel and a flat wheel, on a soft Santoprene handle contoured for left or right handed use. It publishes no weight.
The least weight in the drawer. LLMSIX, a published 0.11 lb single fluted wheel with a high carbon stainless blade and a long wooden handle, rinsed under water, stated small enough for a drawer or a baking kit. No size is published.
One motion from cut to seal. MyHoome, a published 0.24 lb single wheel in 430 stainless steel, stated to cut, seal and crimp in one motion across ravioli, pierogi, dumplings and empanadas, and stated dishwasher safe. No size is published.
Three patterns and a hook. WQHLONGBO, a set of three stainless steel cutters in different shapes, cutting a lace serrated pattern and long uniform noodles, dishwasher safe or washed in clean water, with a hanging hole in each handle.
What We Could Not Verify
Every figure above comes from the maker’s own listing text. These are the things we went looking for and could not source in any of them.
- None of these five publishes the width of the cutting wheel, which decides how wide a sealed border it leaves.
- No listing publishes a blade thickness, so the pressure needed to seal two sheets of dough is unstated.
- Three of these five publish no dimension of any kind, which on a drawer page is the figure that matters most.
- The Grip-EZ dimension fields are larger in every axis than the size stated in its own bullet.
- LLMSIX publishes no handle length, despite the long wooden handle being the part that will not fit a divider.
- WQHLONGBO does not say which three shapes are in the box, and publishes neither a weight nor a size.
