Küchenprofi Ravioli Cutter
One metal throughout, so soaking it costs nothing.
- 7-Inch
- 0.2 lb
Three of these seven listings mention cleaning at all, so the deciding specification becomes what the tool is made of, because dough packs into a fluted wheel and only one of these five is metal all through.

I read seven ravioli wheel listings for every cleaning, material and handle statement, then set those against the published wheel diameters, sizes and weights.

One metal throughout, so soaking it costs nothing.

A fluted wheel and a smooth wheel, and it names its drawer.

The only listing in the pool that addresses the grooves.

A 1.6 inch stainless wheel with five stated jobs.

A round, a square and a heart stamp, plus a roller wheel.

Kuchenprofi is 18/10 stainless steel throughout, so nothing on it objects to a soak, at 0.2 lb. SHANGSKY is the only listing that addresses the flutes, stating the grooves do not easily hold flour dough, on a 6.3 inch oak handle. Tredoni states easily cleaned on a 1.6 inch stainless wheel. Norpro carries two blades on a soft grip and is the only pick stating it fits a utensil drawer. TACGEA brings four pieces and no dimensions.
“The working surface is a groove, and nobody says how to clean it.”

Two of seven, and only one of them usefully. SHANGSKY states that the grooves of the tool do not easily stick to flour dough and are simple to deal with, which is the only sentence in the pool about the flutes themselves. Tredoni lists easily cleaned among its qualities without saying how or which part. The other five listings say nothing about washing, soaking, drying or clogging.
On the published record, only the Kuchenprofi with confidence, because it states 18/10 stainless steel throughout and names no second material. Tredoni states stainless steel and describes a solid ergonomic grip without saying what the grip is, so it reads as metal but is not stated to be. The SHANGSKY and TACGEA tools have oak and wooden handles, and Norpro has a molded synthetic grip.
It is a question neither maker answers. SHANGSKY publishes a 6.3 inch oak handle and TACGEA a wooden handle on an aluminum frame, and neither says whether the wood is sealed or finished, or whether it may be submerged. Oak is a fine handle material and a poor thing to leave in water, so the practical answer is to wash the wheel and wipe the handle, which is general knowledge rather than published guidance.
One, on four of the five picks. TACGEA is the exception at four: a round stamp, a square stamp, a heart stamp and a roller wheel, all with wooden handles and an aluminum frame. That is the point of the set, since it makes three different ravioli shapes in one session, and it is also four grooved metal objects going into the same sink afterwards.
Tredoni names the most in words, stating cutting, crimping, stamping and decorating, plus marking dough for venting and cutting strips for lattice pie crusts. Norpro covers the most with hardware rather than words, carrying a fluted wheel and a smooth flat wheel in one body so the sealing pass and the straight trimming pass do not need two tools. Kuchenprofi states cutting, sealing and crimping from one roller.
The Norpro weight field contains a zero, which cannot describe a steel tool with a molded handle, so it is discarded here rather than quoted as a figure. The same listing also publishes dimension fields of 3.5 by 8.5 by 1 inches against its own bullet stating 7 by 3 by 0.75 inches. Where a listing contradicts itself this page uses the maker's own sentence and says which figure it set aside.

A fluted ravioli wheel is a rotating groove that gets pushed through wet dough, and the dough packs into the grooves. In a kitchen with one sink and no dishwasher assumed, that is the whole maintenance question, and three of these seven listings address it in any form. Two of the three say a single sentence and the third says nothing more than easily cleaned.
So the evidence has to come from what the tool is made of at the joint between the wheel and the handle. One of these five is 18/10 stainless steel all the way through. One has a soft synthetic grip molded onto steel blades. Two have oak or wooden handles on zinc alloy or aluminum, and those are the ones you cannot leave in water.

Two rows here are unreliable and the page says so rather than quietly using them. The Norpro dimension fields read 3.5 by 8.5 by 1 inches while its own bullet states 7 by 3 by 0.75, and its weight field is zero, which is not a weight. The Kuchenprofi height field of 7.75 inches is the length of the tool, not its height, since its size field says 7 inch.
SHANGSKY is the only maker in this pool that names the actual problem. Its material bullet states that the grooves of the tool do not easily stick to flour dough and are simple to deal with afterwards, which is the one sentence here written by somebody who has washed a crimping wheel. The claim is not quantified and it is not verified, but it is the right subject.
Tredoni gets closest after that, listing super comfortable and easily cleaned among its qualities without saying how or what part. The other five listings in the pool of seven say nothing at all about washing, drying, soaking or clogging. On a tool whose entire working surface is a set of grooves, that is a conspicuous silence across the whole category.
Kuchenprofi publishes the most useful fact without framing it as a cleaning claim: the tool is 18/10 stainless steel, a single material with no handle to protect. A one metal tool can be soaked, scrubbed and left wet without consequence, and none of the other four can make that claim in full.
Tredoni describes itself as stainless steel with a solid ergonomic grip and gives no second material, so it reads as metal throughout as well, though the listing never states that the grip is steel rather than a coating. Given how little any of these makers publish, the difference between a stated single material and an implied one is worth keeping separate.
SHANGSKY pairs a zinc alloy wheel with a 6.3 inch oak handle, and TACGEA pairs an aluminum frame with a wooden handle across four pieces. Oak is a good handle and a poor thing to submerge, and neither listing says how to wash a wooden handled tool that has just been rolled through wet dough. Neither states whether the handle is sealed or finished.
That is not a reason to avoid either. It is a reason to know before buying, particularly on the TACGEA set, where three stamps and a roller all share the same construction and all four have to be cleaned after one batch of ravioli. The set is the largest washing up in this pool and the only multi piece purchase in it.
Norpro uses a Santoprene handle described as soft, non slip and contoured for left or right handed use, carrying two stainless blades: a fluted wheel and a smooth flat wheel. A molded synthetic grip is not wood and it is not steel either. It will not swell, and the seam where it meets the steel is one more place flour paste can sit.
What Norpro does publish, uniquely here, is where the tool lives: it states 7 by 3 by 0.75 inches and says the tool fits conveniently in utensil drawers. That is the only storage sentence anywhere in the pool, and in a kitchen with one drawer of utensils it is the sort of thing that should be published more often.
Norpro is the only pick with two heads, a fluted wheel for scalloped edges and a smooth flat wheel for straight cuts, which means one object covers both the sealing pass and the trimming pass. For anyone with a single utensil drawer that is two tools not bought, and it is the strongest argument in this pool for a tool that is not all metal.
The three single wheel picks each do it differently. Kuchenprofi states cutting, sealing and crimping from one roller. SHANGSKY states a lace cutter wheel of 1.6 inches on a long handle for pushing through dough without resistance. Tredoni states cutting, crimping, stamping and decorating from a 1.6 inch wheel, and adds marking dough for venting.
TACGEA is the outlier and the reason is worth understanding. It is not one wheel, it is a round stamp, a square stamp, a heart stamp and a roller wheel, on an aluminum frame with wooden handles, designed so three different types of ravioli can be made in one session. Its bullets describe pressing down hard to seal and crimp in one action.
It publishes no dimensions at all beyond a carton of 2.76 by 2.76 by 4 inches, and no weight. For a small kitchen the honest reading is that four objects arrive, all of them need washing, and none of their sizes is stated, so there is no way to plan a drawer around them before they turn up.
The kitchen with one sink and no patience. Kuchenprofi is 18/10 stainless steel throughout with no handle material to protect, published at 0.2 lb and stated at 7 inches, cutting, sealing and crimping from a single roller. Nothing on it objects to being soaked.
The kitchen that wants two cuts from one tool. Norpro carries a fluted wheel and a smooth flat wheel on a soft non slip handle contoured for either hand, states 7 by 3 by 0.75 inches and is the only listing here that says the tool fits a utensil drawer. Its weight field reads zero.
The kitchen making long sheets of pasta. SHANGSKY pairs a 1.6 inch fluted wheel with a 6.3 inch oak handle at 0.09 lb, and is the only listing that claims its grooves shed flour dough rather than hold it. Keep the oak handle out of a soak.
The kitchen decorating as well as cutting. Tredoni is a 1.6 inch stainless wheel published at 1.57 by 6.57 by 0.87 inches and 0.09 lb, stated for cutting, crimping, stamping, venting and lattice work, and stated easily cleaned. Made in Italy, with no second material named.
The kitchen making three shapes at once. TACGEA brings a round, a square and a heart stamp plus a roller wheel on an aluminum frame with wooden handles. Four objects to wash and store, and no published size for any of them beyond the box they arrive in.
