How the Five Compare on the Numbers
Seven listings sit on the fact sheet and two are not on this page. One is a second SUNWILL in a different finish, which would compare a tumbler with itself. WATERSY is a 40 oz cup with a handle whose own bullet gives 10.8 inches high and 3.9 inches across while its dimension fields read 10 by 4 by 4 in, and it publishes no parts list and no dishwasher statement.
What decides this page is how many separate pieces have to be washed and whether any maker says a machine will do it. YETI is the only listing here that states dishwasher safe. FristChoice arrives with the most parts of anything on this page and is the only one that supplies a brush for them. The other three publish an easy to clean claim and no method at all.
The table shows the trade this category hides. The tumbler with the most parts, the FristChoice with two lids, two straws and a brush, is the one that needs the most washing and the only one that ships the tool for it. The tumbler that says a dishwasher will do the job, the YETI, is also the one whose lid the maker states plainly is not leakproof. Neither StarSpeed nor Cool Yoleb publishes a cleaning method at all.
What Each Maker Commits To
One Plain Dishwasher Claim in the Whole Pool
YETI states it in one clause and moves on: the Ramblers are BPA free, dishwasher safe, and have a No Sweat design to keep hands dry. Nothing else here says the word dishwasher. The same listing publishes a Duracoat coating stated not to crack, peel or fade, and gives the tumbler’s height in words as 6 7/8 in with a lip diameter of 3 1/2 in.
It is also the most honest listing in the pool about its own lid. A separate bullet states plainly that the MagSlider lid is not leakproof, which is a sentence most makers here would not print. For cleaning that matters in a useful way: a magnetic slider has no gasket to work around and no straw channel to reach into.
The One That Ships a Brush
FristChoice takes the opposite approach and equips you rather than reassuring you. The package is one 30 oz tumbler, two leak proof lids, one flip and one straw, two stainless steel straws and one straw brush. That is six items to keep track of and five of them go in water, and the brush exists because a stainless straw cannot be cleaned any other way.
Its material claim is the most specific here as well, naming 18/8 304 stainless steel with internal electropolishing, which is a surface treatment rather than an adjective. What it never says is whether any of those six pieces can go in a dishwasher. On a tumbler with two lids and two straws, that is the one sentence the listing is missing.
Three Easy to Clean Claims With No Method
Powder Coats and What They Are Claimed to Survive
SUNWILL says the tumbler is easy to wash and unbreakable, made from 18/8 304 food grade stainless steel that will never rust. Its powder coated finish is stated not to scratch, peel or fade. Cool Yoleb says the stainless surface ensures the tumbler is easier to clean and is rust resistant, and that its powder coat will take laser engraving, color painting or decals.
Both are claims about the outside rather than instructions about the inside. Neither names a dishwasher, a temperature or a brush. That is worth noting because a powder coated exterior is exactly the surface a hot dishwasher cycle can dull, and both listings make a durability claim about that coating without ever saying whether a machine is part of the test.
The Listing With Almost Nothing in It
StarSpeed publishes a single feature bullet. It names high quality food safe 18/8 and 304 stainless steel, calls the wine tumbler insulated, and that is the extent of it. There is no cleaning statement, no insulation figure, no lid description and no finish claim. Its published figures are a 12 oz capacity, 3.66 by 3.66 by 4.9 in and 0.44 lb.
At 12 oz it is also the smallest capacity here, which changes the cleaning question rather than removing it. A stemless wine tumbler is a wide shallow vessel a hand reaches into easily, which is the opposite problem from a 30 oz cup with a straw. Nothing in the listing says so, and the inference is the reader’s rather than the maker’s.
Insulation Figures, and What They Have to Do With Washing
Three Listings Publish Hours, Two Publish None
SUNWILL publishes over 6 hours hot and around 24 hours cold. FristChoice publishes 24 hours cold and a hot figure in the same bullet. Cool Yoleb publishes 12 hours cold and 6 hours warm. YETI publishes no hours at all, describing double wall vacuum insulation without a number, and StarSpeed publishes none either.
Those figures matter to a cleaning page for one reason: a vacuum insulated wall is a sealed cavity, and if it is breached the tumbler stops working. That is the real argument against a dishwasher on any double walled cup, and it is the argument none of these five listings makes. The one that permits a machine simply permits it.
Gaskets, Sliders and Where Residue Sits
SUNWILL publishes a silicone gasket in a sliding lid and calls it spill proof. FristChoice publishes two leak proof lids. Cool Yoleb publishes a well sealed plastic slip lid. YETI publishes a magnetic slider and says it is not leakproof. StarSpeed publishes a lid and nothing about it.
A gasket is where coffee residue collects and it is the part a dishwasher reaches least well. Not one of these five says whether the gasket comes out, and only FristChoice supplies anything to get into a small channel. Four of the five sell a seal as a feature and none of the four explains how to clean behind it.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
A tumbler you want to put in the machine. YETI, the only listing here stating dishwasher safe, at 20 oz with a magnetic slider lid the maker says is not leakproof, published at 0.4 lb, 3.5 in across and 6 7/8 in high in its own words.
A straw, and something to clean it with. FristChoice, 30 oz of 18/8 304 steel with internal electropolishing, two leak proof lids, two stainless straws and a straw brush, published at 3.9 by 3.9 by 7.6 in and 1.15 lb.
The fullest insulation figures with one lid to wash. SUNWILL, 20 oz rated over 6 hours hot and around 24 hours cold, with a sliding lid on a silicone gasket, a powder coat stated not to scratch or peel, at 0.72 lb.
A plain 30 oz with nothing extra. Cool Yoleb, 18/8 food grade steel holding cold 12 hours and warm 6 hours, one well sealed slip lid, a powder coat that takes engraving, published at 3.94 by 3.94 by 7.88 in.
A small wide vessel a hand fits into. StarSpeed, a 12 oz insulated wine tumbler in 18/8 and 304 food safe steel at 3.66 by 3.66 by 4.9 in and 0.44 lb. Its listing publishes one feature bullet and no cleaning statement.
What We Could Not Verify
Every figure above comes from the maker’s own listing text. These are the things we went looking for and could not source in any of them.
- Only YETI names a dishwasher, so on four of these five whether a machine is acceptable is simply unstated.
- Not one of the five says whether the lid gasket can be removed, which is where residue collects on four of them.
- FristChoice ships two lids, two straws and a brush and never says whether any of those six pieces is dishwasher safe.
- StarSpeed publishes one feature bullet with no cleaning statement, no insulation figure and no lid description.
- Neither YETI nor StarSpeed publishes an insulation figure in hours, so two of the five cannot be compared on that at all.
- No listing states whether its powder coat or Duracoat finish survives a dishwasher cycle, though three of them make durability claims about it.
