How the Five Compare on the Numbers
A jar spatula exists to get the last of something out of a container, so the figure that matters is reach. Tovolo states 12 inches and gives the reason: it reaches into tall jars and narrow containers regular spatulas cannot. Patelai states 11 inches, Ksheria 9.65. Vovoly and BICASUU publish no length in words at all, on tools whose whole purpose is length.
Only one listing measures the part that actually goes in. Ksheria breaks its 9.65 inches into a 4.3 inch head, a 1 inch width and a 4.9 inch handle, which is the only way to tell whether a spatula will pass the neck of a jar. Patelai gives a 1.4 inch width. The other three give nothing about the head.
What the table cannot tell you is how flexible any of these heads is, because no listing publishes a durometer, a thickness or any figure for the silicone itself. Tovolo and Patelai both describe a head that follows the curve of a jar, and Ksheria a flexible edge for sourdough, and none of the three measures it. Flexibility is the property the whole category is sold on and none of the five puts a number to it.
Reach Is the Only Figure That Matters
Twelve Inches Down to Under Ten
Tovolo states 12 inches and is explicit about what that buys: reaching into tall jars, mason jars, blender containers and narrow containers that regular spatulas cannot access. Its dimension fields read 1.97 by 11.02 by 0.1 inches, so the stated 12 and the fielded 11.02 disagree by an inch, and the sentence is the one to use.
Patelai states 11 inches, restated as 28 cm, and Ksheria 9.65 inches, restated as 24.5 cm. Vovoly’s size field reads 11 by 1.5 and its bullets never mention a length, and BICASUU publishes no length of any kind for a set it describes as small, medium and large. On a reach page, two of five publish nothing about reach.
The One Listing That Measures the Head
Ksheria publishes the breakdown nobody else does: a total of 24.5 cm or 9.65 inches, of which the head is 11 cm or 4.3 inches long and 2.8 cm or 1 inch wide, and the handle is 12 cm or 4.9 inches. That is the figure a narrow-necked jar cares about, because a 1 inch head goes into a jam jar and a wider one does not.
Patelai gives half of it, a 1.4 inch width, and describes a long narrow head that dips into a small jar. Tovolo publishes a 1.97 inch field which may be the head or the packaging and says only that the head bends to follow jar curves. The 9.65 inch tool is the only one here you can size against a jar before buying it.
What Gets in the Way of a Jar
A Shoulder, a Slant, and Two Sides
Tovolo publishes the most thought-through head on this page. It states a built in shoulder that scrapes under the jar lip and around corners, an angled head for scooping and spreading, a curved side for scooping and a flat side for spreading. Those are four separate geometric claims about the part that touches the food, and no other listing here makes more than one.
Patelai makes the one that matters most for a jar: a slanted head that reaches into a corner, on a long narrow body, so the container is left empty. Ksheria states a flexible edge that scrapes sticky dough from a sourdough jar. Vovoly and BICASUU describe reaching into jars and tight spaces without describing the shape that does it.
Seams, and Which Listings Rule Them Out
Two of the five state there is nothing to clean out. Vovoly states a seamless shape with no seams or cracks to hide food residue. Patelai states a one-piece heat resistant spatula with no seams or cracks and no hidden food residue. On a tool that lives in a peanut butter jar, that is a hygiene claim with a practical consequence.
The other three publish nothing about seams, and two of them describe a construction where a seam would be: Tovolo states a rigid nylon core inside flexible silicone edges, and Ksheria a metal inner shaft. Those cores are what make the tools strong, and the listings do not say how the silicone closes around them.
Heat, Hanging and How Many Arrive
Three Heat Figures and Two Silences
Tovolo publishes 600 F, the highest figure here, and states the silicone protects nonstick cookware while handling thick batters and doughs. Ksheria publishes 460 F. Patelai publishes a range rather than a ceiling, minus 60 to 250 degrees centigrade, which is the only listing here that says anything about cold at all.
Vovoly states high heat resistance and that the silicone will not discolor, warp or melt, with no figure. BICASUU states food grade silicone with a stainless steel core and nothing about temperature. Both are honest descriptions and neither can be compared with the three that publish numbers, which is the whole point of publishing one.
One, Two or Four
Tovolo and Ksheria each supply one spatula, which for a weekday routine means one jar at a time and a wash between. Patelai and Vovoly each supply two. BICASUU supplies four in three sizes, one small, one medium and two large, and extends the use case to cosmetic bottles, lotion and shampoo as well as ketchup and honey.
That last listing is the one that answers a storage routine most directly and publishes the least about it. It states the spatulas can be run in a dishwasher while recommending hand washing, and gives no length, no head width and no temperature. The four sizes are named and not measured, so which one fits which jar is unknown.
Which One Fits Your Kitchen
Tall jars and blender jugs. Tovolo states 12 inches with a rigid nylon core, a built in shoulder to scrape under the jar lip, a curved scooping side and a flat spreading side, 600 F and dishwasher safe, at 0.11 pounds. Its fields read 11.02 inches against a stated 12.
A narrow necked jam jar. Ksheria is the only pick that measures its head: 4.3 inches long and 1 inch wide inside a 9.65 inch total, with a 4.9 inch handle and a metal inner shaft, rated to 460 F at 0.09 pounds. It publishes no washing instruction.
Hanging it by the cooker. Patelai supplies two spatulas at 11 by 1.4 inches, or 28 by 3.5 cm, with suspension holes in the handle ends, a slanted head for corners, a one-piece seamless body and a range of minus 60 to 250 C, at 0.26 pounds.
Nothing for residue to hide in. Vovoly supplies two seamless spatulas with a stainless steel core, stated not to discolor, warp or melt. Its size field reads 11 by 1.5 and its bullets publish no length, no temperature figure and no washing instruction.
Jars, bottles and everything with a narrow opening. BICASUU supplies four spatulas in three sizes with stainless steel cores, named for peanut butter and ketchup as well as lotion and shampoo, at 0.15 pounds. It publishes no length and no head width for any of the four.
What We Could Not Verify
These are the figures the five listings do not publish, and nothing above has been supplied in their place.
- No listing publishes a thickness or a flexibility figure for the silicone head.
- Vovoly and BICASUU publish no length in words, on tools sold for their reach.
- Only Ksheria publishes a head length and width, so what will pass a jar neck is otherwise unknown.
- Tovolo states 12 inches and publishes a field of 11.02.
- Ksheria and Vovoly publish no washing instruction of any kind.
- BICASUU names four spatulas in three sizes and measures none of them.
